A Prayer for Priests.

O Jesus,Eternal Priest,we humbly ask you to increase the ranks of those whom you have chosen
to share in your Divine Priesthood.

May the lives of all Priests be a reflection of your loving obedience to your Heavenly Father and of your self sacrificing love for all men.

Sanctify all Priests that they may lead others to true holiness.May they so live as to continue your presence in the world and be living channels of your love and your grace to all men.

Bless their apostolate with abundant fruit so that many may come to know and love you in this life and attain eternal happiness in Heaven.Amen.

(Bishop Joseph Rosario,bishop of Amravati India
RIP) I was given this prayer card from him long ago.

Fr. Brett wrote another book, “A Priest in the Family” that addresses questions/concerns that parents may have.

Congratulations, and thank you very much! We need more priests.

Daily prayer for Priests

Prayer for priests, attributed to Saint Therese

O Jesus, I pray for your faithful and fervent priests;
for your unfaithful and tepid priests;
for your priests labouring at home or abroad in distant mission fields;
for your tempted priests;
for your lonely and desolate priests;
for your young priests;
for your dying priests;
for the souls of your priests in purgatory.

But above all, I recommend to you the priests dearest to me:
the priest who baptised me;
the priests who absolved me from my sins;
the priests at whose Masses I assisted and who gave me your Body and Blood in Holy Communion;
the priests who taught and instructed me;
all the priests to whom I am indebted in any other way (especially …). (Saint Thomas Aquinas, Father Saguto, and Father Lovett.)

O Jesus, keep them all close to your heart,
and bless them abundantly in time and in eternity.

Amen.

Thanks for posting that, (name removed by moderator).
I didn’t know the significance until now!
May God bless our past, present, and future priests.
Amen.

For @YoungApologist3 and all those in Seminaries

Oh God, hear our prayer for the men you have chosen to follow in your Son’s footsteps.
Teach them humility and fidelity to unselfishly help others.
May their devotion to Our Blessed Mother, Queen of Vocations increase, enabling them to do your will.
Strengthen their prayer life that they may grow spiritually without worldly distractions.
Give them courage and perseverance in their studies.
May the Holy Spirit lighten their struggles with their vocations, until they know the joy of being a priest.

We ask this through Christ your Son.

Amen.

Praying with Emeritus Pope Benedict for all priests.
Prayer by Pope Benedict XVI

Lord Jesus Christ, eternal High Priest,
you offered yourself to the Father on the altar of the cross
and through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit
gave your priestly people a share in your redeeming sacrifice.
Hear our prayer for the sanctification of our priests.
Grant that all who are ordained to the ministerial priesthood
may be ever more conformed to you, the Divine Master.
May they preach the Gospel with pure heart and clear conscience.
Let them be shepherds according to your own heart,
single-minded in service to you and to the Church,
and shining examples of a holy, simple, and joyful life.
Through the prayers of the Blessed Virgin Mary, your Mother and ours,
draw all priests and the flocks entrusted to their care
to the fullness of eternal life where you live and reign
with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Amen.
