That is so funny!!. I’m glad your on the road to recovery. They used to flush my veins with a 1000cc of saline after chemo. I totally get what your saying. Take care and God bless, Tim
Ha ha! That’s because the magnesium, which they also give you by IV, burns your veins. I’m running a Canadian beer pipeline from Toronto to South Carolina, so the bobster can be well ‘nourished’. Trouble is he’s been driving his lawn tractor while ‘nourished’ and has inadvertantly written landing instructions for aliens in his five-foot-high crabgrass. Both the aliens and the FBI are now lost on the bobster’s front lawn: two birds, one stone.

Oh My… Prayers YES… but from the looks of this thread, I think some of you need them as much or more than Bob!!!

Love you all!!!😃

EEeee! I just discovered this thread today - 9/6. Praise be to God that the Geezer is getting better. May God continue to heal him and give the proper wisdom to his health care providers!

Update: I had a stent installed yesterday and am back at home for a few more days of bed rest. Thanks to all for your prayers and e-cards.

Yes, I did receive one that was addressed to “geezerbob.” My full name has always been in my signature, though, but the volunteer figured out where it went and brought it to me yesterday afternoon.

For you dieters, I lost 6 pounds in four days eating all the hospital food they sent me, plus a Chic Fil A, some ice cream, and a few other goodies that were smuggled in.

I have a question for all you medical types out there. You cannot order salt from the hospital kitchen, no matter what unit you’re in. At the same time, they see nothing wrong with hanging a liter bag of saline solution on the rack and injecting it directly into your veins. God never intended for man to eat unsalted grits (double yuck) and I was sorely tempted to run and ounce of that salt water into my bowl of grits to flavor them. Why do they do contradictory things like that?

Back to bed for now. I should be operating at about 50% capacity by Saturday. Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers.
Hey Bob… Glad you are back… I’m an RN so let me ask you a few questions about the salt…

Do you have high blood pressure??

Are you retaining fluid (swelling in the feet or hands)?

If so then you don’t need the extra salt. The saline solution has the same amount of salt that is normally found in tears and sweat… sort of like giving you I.V. Gatorade.

If you don’t have blood pressure problems and you are not and have not experienced swelling, then salt on your grits should be just fine… Most hospitals don’t give it to anyone in the cardiac unit… I always carry a salt shaker to my friends and family in the hospital…

Praise God in Heaven!!! :amen:

Bob, our prayers are continuing, and will continue. But, for your own good, please avoid all threads that deal with faith traditions that start with letters other than “C” 👍
What if it was Calvinism? That begins with a C. 😛

I think he should rest up in the Mudgie thread, just don’t drink the coffee.

We are recommended by Christ to be salt for the earth, and to retain our saltiness (some of us amazingly faithful to this 👍 ). But then doctors tell us to have no salt in us. Easy choice here!

Bob, I just found out what happened & what you’re going through. So sorry to hear it. I’m praying for your recovery. Coming from a family that’s been through Heart Attacks, Quadrouple By-Passes, Stents, & Pacemackers:( , please follow the Doc’s orders & you’ll be fine. We need you around here! By the way, how did the hospital staff know you were “GeezerBob?”😃 😃 . You will be in my prayers. God Bless.

Gearing up for the start of another week of prayers for you, Bob–may God continue to heal and comfort you and your family.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee, Blessed art Thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen

The scariest part is that even though Bob is a common name, they knew exactly who in the hospital “Geezerbob” must be! 😃

Glad to hear you’re back, Bob! And I will pray for your continued healing and complete recovery!
