They detected that my Mom has an irregular heartbeat. Tests ongoing. We hope it’s not anything serious, and if anything, it’s just due to the side effect of the hypertension meds she’s taking.

There is an irregular heartbeat–atrial fibrillation–which can cause strokes. My mother had this type of heart arrhythmia and had 2 strokes. My BIL also had AFb and had a stroke. I’m guessing that your mom probably had the heart problem before her stroke. Make sure you get her a good cardiologist.
