I’m so sorry your family is going through this. You are all in my prayers.

Thank you all so much - as of early monday morning, it appears she made it through the weekend, though with no improvement (although, if they were saying she should have died by now, that is an improvement!). I should know more details later today.

Merciful God and source of all love, pour Your Heavenly Grace out upon this family and especially upon the tiny loved one whose life is, and always will be in Your Precious hands. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

I spoke too soon :crying:

My husband just emailed me from work, having heard from his father - Joliente (a Dutch nickname, little Jolien) passed away very late last night.

I am thinking of her as a saint in heaven, being held close by Mary.

Thank you all for your heartfelt prayers. May I ask that you continue to pray for her family, for Jordi, who will never really know his sister, for her devastated parents and grandparents and other extended family. I will be saying special prayers for Audrey and Bart, that they find solace and strength in their marriage and each other.

I am so very sorry to hear this. 😦

I will offer my Rosary today for all of them, especially little Jolien. God Bless her little soul.

I am so sorry. Your family is in my prayers today.

Please pray for my husband’s cousin’s daughter, Jolien, who doctors say is not expected to make it through the weekend 😦

She is 5 months old and was born with Downs Syndrome and severe heart problems, and has needed many surgeries. The outlook was good - she was expected to need only one more major surgery - but we heard last night that there is now a problem with her lungs, and she is not expected to survive much longer.

Also, please pray for her parents, Audrey and Bart. They are very young and have been through a lot these past five months, and as you can imagine, are devastated at the prospect of losing their beloved daughter. They have an almost two year old little boy as well.

You can see pictures of her here, under ‘foto’s’ jolientje.mijnbabysite.be/ She is a darling, happy little baby, who has already been through so much. Thank you all. I will post updates as I hear them.
I am storming the heavens praying that God’s will be done and the family will find comfort and peace. God love you little one!

Praying…Hail Mary…

I extend my most heartfelt sympathy over the loss of dear baby Jolien. I will pray for Jolien and the entire family at Mass and in my daily prayers.

Father, thank you for blessing
this family with this precious
little baby, if only for a while.
We ask that you grant your
special graces to this family
during their time of suffering.
Grant them peace and understanding.
Help them to live a life that is dedicated
to you and your will. Grant that they
one day be admitted into your heavenly
home to spend eternity with you and
their dear baby. We ask this in the
name of Jesus.
AMEN

Dreadfullty tragic and saddening. Will be keeping Audrey and Bart and Jordi…the parents, grandparents, family and friends in prayer at this overwhelming sad time of grief and loss in their lives. May The Lord be their comfort and consolation and may Audrey, Bart and Jordi find great strength and comfort in each other. Be assured this darling is indeed now a saint in Heaven …

May the family be granted with Peace in this situation.

The Peace of knowledge that the baby is now in heaven. No more suffering for her only joy. The Peace of acceptance with God’s will and the knowledge that the baby is in heaven. Pece in the hearts of all that love her.

Oh, I am so very sorry to read this tragic news. Little Jolien was a beautiful baby on earth, and I can’t even begin to imagine how beautiful she must be now in Heaven. ❤️ I will be keeping her dear family in my prayers.

Thank you all so much for your prayers and support. Joliente’s funeral mass is tomorrow morning (Nov 20).

It’s odd, I do not feel sad for Jolien. I know she is in a better place now, without pain and struggle. But my heart is breaking for her parents and everything they’ve been through. Every time I think of them I start to cry.

It is right to not feel sad for Jolien. Her mission has been accomplished. She is praying for her mom and dad in the presence of her Father. Please share with them that they are the parents of a saint. There aren’t that many people who can say that.

They have been given one of life’s most challenging crosses.

We must pray for them and for all who have such pain.

Gracious source of all mercy, pour out Your Heavenly love upon the family of Jolien, sustaining them and uplifting them through their grief. O Divine Comforter, You alone know the depth of their anguish, having willingly given Your Blessed Son for us sinners. Cast the family’s gaze toward Your Kingdom, and open their hearts to the peace that resides within it. May the Resurrection of our Savior provide eternal hope for all who suffer. I ask this through Christ, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever. Amen.
