As a Political Science major in college, and as a person who grew up in rural American and now lives in suburban Philadelphia…*** I strongly feel that it’s time for a “Catholic Political Party.” ***
The Republicans often do not care for the poor enough, nor show charity. However, the Democrats use charity to keep the poor downtrodden. Many (if not most) Catholics live in urban areas of America. Republicans are pro-Life (plus), Dems are pro-choice (bad). Republican leadership is mostly Protestant, Dems have fallen to the secular/atheist agenda. Nationally, the Republican Party often does not offer solutions for urban American, which forces some to vote Democratic. Then on the flip side, nationally, the Democratic Party as often lost touch with rural American.
It’s time for a “Catholic” party which is focused on Charity, Moral-Catholic Values, and the needs of different communities. Maybe we can call it the “Universal Party” to attract like minded, non-Catholics!
