don’t do the sarcasm routine until you’ve got a better grip on the legal situation here, and its clear you don’t have any grip at all.

how homeschooling is done or not done is a matter for the Germans to decide, not the US courts or immigration authority. all the US court decided is that the German government was enforcing a law against criminals and not persecuting Christians. that US homeschoolers could teach nazism or creationism isn’t important.

As opposed tho the stellar, well adjusted, brilliant students turned out by America’s public school system. The homeschool kids have no idea where to buy drugs, get free condoms and abortion or how to best the snot out of smaller kids to get their lunch money .They need tho be forced into public schools so they can be as well educated as their public school buddies

I don’t have much sympathy for either home schoolers or public education, since I’m the product of neither. the home schoolers I’ve met haven’t impressed me much, then again, I have higher standards than many. public education ranges from horrendous to very good, depending on where you are and what the local tax base is.

if homeschoolers want to teach creationism, or that the earth is flat, or illiteracy, that’s ok by me, its more amusing than tragic. after all, they’re not my kids.

if you don’t think homeschooled kids can’t find drugs, condoms or abortions you’re fooling yourself.

and every kid ought to know how to beat the snot out of the weaker.

Yes. And don’t forget…the home schooler is also deprived of the knowledge that a proper family unit includes married homosexuals…and liberals will save the world. :rotfl:

No kidding! How many home schooled kids end up pregnant and having abortions?

Doesn’t anyone care that this family will probably lose their children if they are forced to return to Germany?

not me, and not the 6th Circuit, which is the only opinion that counts. they can always send the kids to school, move out of germany, or apply for an exemption.

only the most incompetent, negligent parents would allow their kids to be taken away for something this trivial.
 
Can someone explain to me how this qualifies for asylum when it’s reserved for real refugees who are in threat of murder or execution? The family had the option to easily move to other EU countries where homeschooling is perfectly legal.

Source? From all I’ve heard, it was proactively enacted to prevent neo-Nazism, not in response to anything at all. I’m open to correction, but I’d like to see a source. It certainly appears to be the case that the people in Germany now who are being prevented from homeschooling are Christians, rather than Nazis.

As for what is being taught in German public schools, well, that’s part of the problem with public schools in general, isn’t it? There is what is being taught by teachers, and also what is being taught by peers. I’m positive that the teachers are not teaching the values of the Nazis. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t being learnt by public school children in school.

However, although I am absolutely convinced that Germany’s ban on homeschooling is an immoral law, that doesn’t mean I think the family is really eligible for asylum.
