What I thought was stupid is, why would you agree to a debate on your anniversary?

Certainly the date wasn’t engraved in stone and he could’ve negotiated with the Romney campaign to have it on another day?

I know I would never have gotten away with a error like that with my bride. 😃

Jim
True, that.

When that Mormon candidate referred to “our God,” I wanted to whap him upside the head and scream “How DARE you talk about ‘our’ God?” It just infuriated me. And I think it would infuriate St. Athanasius and the other Trinitarians at Nicea.

This is the first Presidential election in which both major-party candidates are completely post-Christian. I deeply wish that they both could lose.
Whapping him upside the head is the preferred Catholic way of fraternally guiding non-Christians.

I did not watch the debate. Instead, another parishioner and I knelt in front of the tabernacle prayed for Romney one hour before the debate starts, until half way the debate was over. . Before we left the church, we lighted a candle to continue carrying our prayers. I also prayed all the way home for Romney. Basically, I prayed two hours non-stop for Romney tonight.

I am so grateful to find out it was a Romney night!! Thank God! Let’s keep on praying day and night without ceasing!
Glenn Beck had a similar story about praying for Romney or praying for viewers to have the scales covering their eyes removed.

Coming back here after an absence of some days. Awesome to be back with you folks again. God be blessed always. 👍

“The Europeans have a general uneasiness about a Romney presidency,” said Jan Techau, the director of Carnegie Europe.

"It’s not because they don’t like him, but there are a lot of neoconservative policy advisers who would come back into office under a Romney presidency, and that is a prospect that a lot of European leaders are not comfortable with.
“There’s a general tendency to stick to what you know and what you have been working with,” he told Reuters.
“Even though we have a natural predilection for Democratic presidents, we’ll embrace the next U.S. president whoever he is,” said one diplomat in Brussels. “We just have to deal with it.”
I tend to go with the last sentence in the above paragraph. 👍

Don’t get me wrong----it IS ultimately Europe’s business----after all, the President IS the most powerful man in the world, after all----his decision’s DO affect the whole world--------but Europeans need to learn----it cannot be THEIR way ALL the time-------it doesn’t even mean they are always right, anyway.

What do you think? Discuss. (And please try to read the whole article first). 🙂

Well, their next debate is on the 16th, so if he starts it off by saying “in two days, Michelle and I celebrate our anniversary…” we’ll know something is up. 😛

I can’t talk…I have 3 anniversaries. May 10 (court), September 26 (w/family and Presbyterian minister), September 29 (convalidation) 🙂
I can’t imagine why he would lie about the date. Their children aren’t old enough that they changed the date the way my cousin did. (She, after a few years, claimed they had been married long then they had to stop people from counting the months between wedding and birth.) But I also don’t understand them not correcting the misinformation out there.

Okay another point, I thought, but I haven’t found it on tape, that Obama said that Romney would change the Medicare that his (Obama’s) grandmother has. 🤷 Does anyone else remember that? I only ask because I thought that his grandmother died back in 2008.

I also have two anniversaries. One at court and one for my Convalidation.

From the Washington Examiner:
Was Obama rattled by developing donor scandal story?
President Obama reelection campaign, rattled by his Wednesday night debate performance, could be in for even worse news. According to knowlegable sources, a national magazine and a national web site are preparing a blockbuster donor scandal story.

Sources told Secrets that the Obama campaign has been trying to block the story. But a key source said it plans to publish the story Friday or, more likely, Monday.

According to the sources, a taxpayer watchdog group conducted a nine-month investigation into presidential and congressional fundraising and has uncovered thousands of cases of credit card solicitations and donations to Obama and Capitol Hill, allegedly from unsecure accounts, and many from overseas. That might be a violation of federal election laws.
That might explain it. Sounds better than the altitude, debating a doppelganger, or any of the other excuses I’ve heard.

The board is to regulate the insurance and medical corporations to be sure they’re not gouging the people on premiums and costs.

They don’t decide who gets care and what type of care. That’s still in the hands of the doctors.

I live in Massachusetts on Romney Care, BTW.

It’s been great.

Jim
Even the NY Times has used the words Death Panels existing in the ACA, alright, it’s an editorial.
WE need death panels.
Well, maybe not death panels, exactly, but unless we start allocating health care resources more prudently — rationing, by its proper name — the exploding cost of Medicare will swamp the federal budget.

She did die in 2008.

Another funny detail from the debate. Obama’s grandmother was the Vice President of a bank in California for many years. I doubt if she was so poor that she was subsisting on social security, particularly because Obama himself was very rich by 2008, and that would’ve been pretty trashy of him. His current net worth is more than $16 million dollars. All that business about Romney being so rich and him being so poor is play-acting. They’re both very rich and they both know it. Everyone in politics is loaded to the gills and so are all the visible members of the big mainstream news media, CNN, MSNBC, etc etc.

I miss Richard Nixon.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Me too.

You know, he had a weird personality and wasn’t very personable, and you know allowed a hotel room break-in and then lied about it (what is is?), but he was a foreign policy genius. We could sure use one of those now, eh?

I honestly think he wanted his idea of a human interest story onstage last night. He thinks we give a **** about his fairy tale. Au contraire.

You know, Obama doesn’t do press conferences, and he’s pretty isolated by his own choice. He’s got people pretty much kissing his shoes day after day. I think part of what happened last night is that he had to come out of his little world and face some questions and he’s rusty as all get out. He’s already got the nose-in-the-air professor thing going on and I think he’s simply not used to being talked to like that.

LOL. I didn’t say I would whap him upside the head. I said I wanted to. And actually, St. Athanasius would quite literally have whapped him upside the head. 😉 He had no patience with anti-Trinitarians who pretended to be Christians… and was not shy of getting physical with them.

The best polls use three day rolling averages, so look for sunday’s polls to give the best indication.
Yes, and the polls that are being run by the big news outlets like CNN are using 2008-derived sampling techniques, which means they’re vastly over-sampling Democrats, so they’re going to be biased.

Rasmussen nailed 2008. They’re absolutely the best bet. They’re paying really close attention to their sampling mix as conditions change out in the real world (where all the voters are! 😛 )
