David Axelrod is really, really defensive on CNN right now. Boy, do they know they lost.
There’s a lot of hate going on over at Yahoo News comments too. “In that place there will be crying and gnashing of teeth…” describes it perfectly.

Did anybody see Frank Luntz focus group with undecided voters, bunch of them voted for Obama in 2008. Luntz said he had never seen a focus group that had many change before. Many of the now support Romney

Romney dominated, I was shocked. I thought Romney would debate cool and collected but he was aggressive, but not rude and did what I wanted, to do the job that the mainstream media has not done. Obama under performed because he has never been challenged

Well done Romney

Bill Maher tweeted, ‘i can’t believe i’m saying this, but Obama looks like he DOES need a teleprompter’ that Romney was the winner and ‘Obama’s not looking like he came for a job interview, Romney so far does’

I feel that Obama looks diminshed, and tired. His delivery is the same but it lacks force.
He looked guarded to me. He knows he is ahead in many polls and didn’t want to make the big gaff.

Romney had a good night and looked presidential. I think a good number of undecideds or people who are leaning Obama but not really happy about it will see this performance and the fact the Romney was able to go toe to toe with the President and more than hold his own and feel like the could see him being President.

I particularly loved the point of the billions wasted on “green energy” that could have hired thousands of teachers.
Lisa
And how those green energy people who he gave billions to happen to donate to Obama’s campaign. And that about half of them went bankrupt.

I saw the focus group on FOX. Amazing feedback. I was almost embarrassed for Obama tonight.

This is just the first debate. I suspect Obama’s muted demeanor is simply strategy. “It’s a chess game, not checkers.” 😃
And Romney just said “Checkmate!” or “King Me!” if you prefer Obama’s game of Checkers.

MSNBC is talking about how well Obama did and how poorly Romney did.

(Just had to turn it on to see what Obama supporters are watching.)

What’s their secret? Peyote? Excessive alcohol? Unicorn dust?

Well, I watched the debate in it’s entirety.

I have to give this to Mitt Romney. He was sharp, aggressive and at times the president looked like he was a bit confused on how he would answer.

Jim
I don’t think the President likes going off script. Whenever he has a press conference, the media only get about three questions in over an hour’s time because he likes to lecture and wax poetic about different things. Being pressed for specifics and asked to draw distinctions between yourself and the other candidate, I thought was a good tactic on the part of the moderator, because it forced them to a bit more on topic.

Romney did well. I’m not sure it was the beatdown that many are claiming, but he looked presidential, which goes a long way when you are the challenger.

:rotfl: Like the Obama Kool-aid better?
Absolutely not, which is why I stated he was no better than Obama. sigh As I’ve stated multiple times, both men are poor choices. However, just because I’m a pro-life Catholic I’m not jumping on the bandwagon of a Mormon who is pro-life because it suits him now.
C’mon, he’s rich you know he MUST be eeeeviiilll!!!
Not everyone thinks Romney is evil because he’s rich. (It’s not a good idea to make assumptions because some of us might make 6+ figures a year and think he’s evil anyway! 😉 ) As we all know the love and passion for money is why our Lord said it would be hard for a rich man to enter heaven, not the money itself.

They will vote for Obama regardless, I care about what the undecided voters thought and if Frank Luntz’s focus group is anything to go by expect the momentum it be on Romney’s side. I suspect the pollsters will now oversample democrats even more to make up for many undecided voters switching to Romney

Well keep in mind, both candidates are trying to move independents to their side, so they’re not going to bring up wedge issues if they’re npt forced to.

Contraception, the majority of Independents support it, although they’re in disagreement one who should pay for it. But politically in the debate, Romney was well advised to stay away from it.

Jim
Good analysis in my view. Obama has been desperately trying to make this election about the small things, to bring in wedge issues, and paint the narrative away from his record on the economy. Romney would be a fool to allow that to happen in the debate process.

Apart from the HHS mandate why would contraception be an issue? Doubt contraception is goings to be a decider in peoples votes, the economy will be
