Aren’t our Embassies and Consulates considered American soil? Aren’t those who died Americans? Don’t we defend our own, no matter where they are?

I think Benghazi is a real tipping point. The policies of “normalization” don’t work with this kind of situation. Realize Libya is a very young nation in its current form. Remember how we saw a great deal of violence and uprisings after WWII? I think the policy was naive at best and at worst a dereliction of duty.

Further they are CONTINUING to push the “video” lie claiming that either they didn’t blame the video (followed by tape of them saying just that) or that “they didn’t have information” (followed by testimony under oath saying something different). It’s truly shocking that they continue to perpetuate a lie.

BTW Rich you said neither Obama or Romney were up to the job. But you apparently think Hillary Clinton would be…given her lack of achievement as SoS and this recent debacle, please tell me if she would still meet your incredibly high standards?

PS Stephanie Cutter is now blaming ROMNEY for the Benghazi situation!
American Embassies are considered American soil and in the Middle East that’s why they’re sometimes targets of terrorists.

That particular embassy had requested more security and it the request was explicitly denied by the State Department.

abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/10/email-shows-state-department-rejecting-request-of-security-team-at-us-embassy-in-libya/

washingtonexaminer.com/house-u.s.-embassy-in-libya-asked-for-extra-security-request-denied/article/2509580

The fact that the a few members of the media are now trying to blame Romney for something that’s Obama’s fault is just more evidence of the fact that they’re totally freaking out over the election. Madame Cutter can safely be ignored. She’s full of it.

Romney’s response to Cutter’s allegation than Benghazi is an issue only because Romney raises it in campaign appearances:

No, President Obama, it is an issue because this is the first time in 33 years that a United States Ambassador has been assassinated," Romney said during a campaign stop in Asheville, North Carolina. "Mr. President, this is an issue because we were attacked successfully by terrorists on the anniversary of 9/11. President Obama, this is an issue because Americans wonder why it was that it took so long for you and your Administration to admit this was a terrorist attack.”

Well said, Governor!

They couldn’t spend the $$$$ on security. It is needed for more green energy loans and ObamaPhones.

It wasn’t even the money. It was Obama’s anti-imperialist policies in the Middle East.

If you want to understand what’s really going on in the Middle East, I’d recommend this:

It’s very good. A bit long, but intelligent and detailed for a change. And very realistic. The lady knows her stuff.

The worst part is that they probably spent that much on one of the First Lady’s monthly vacations alone.

It wasn’t the money. It was Obama’s anti-imperialism policies that caused the security downgrade. See the video I posted above. This is a very important part of understanding what happened and why.

The woman in that video works for a news agency but not in an anchorperson’s capacity. She’s one of their in-depth investigators, the kind that they use regardless of who’s in office. She has a lot of first-person experience in the Middle East and has some important things to say.

I would have to give that one some thought. There are better ways to project an anti-imperialist position than depleting security staff in an embassy.

Except you may not understand “anti-imperialist” the way Obama does. For Obama, this IS the way to do it.
