How awful. I wonder if this is another terrorist attack? Will be praying for the victims.

Several unconfirmed reports of stabbings, and even claims of a shooting at the nearby Borough Market.

Looking at the Metropolitan police twitter, they are warning people away from three spots: London Bridge, Borough Market, and Vauxhall. The first two are very close, so they might be related to the same incident. The tweet appears to be taking the situation very seriously: run, hide, tell.

BBC Twitter reporting at least 2 fatalities. this may be 3 related incidents, London Bridge, Borough Market, Vauxhall.

Absolutely horrendous. The third time in so few months. These people are worse than beasts:(

**Attacker stabbing people with long knife - eyewitness
A security guard who oversees a number of pubs in the area has told the BBC he saw four people stabbed by three attackers.
The man, who was deeply shocked and asked not to be named, said he was at the Market Porter pub when a colleague at another bar said there was a stabbing at the Borough Bistro pub nearby.
He said he went towards this pub and saw that “everybody started running” and there was screaming.
The eyewitness added that he saw three attackers, one of whom had a long knife and stabbing people, including a girl in her early 20s.**

**Natalie and Ben were coming up to the entrance of the underground on Borough High Street when they saw lots of people running.
The married couple witnessed someone being stabbed.
Ben said: "I saw a man in red with quite a large blade, I don’t know the measurement I guess maybe 10 inches. He was stabbing a man…he stabbed him about three times fairly calmly.
"It looked the man had maybe been trying to intervene but there wasn’t much that he could do he was being stabbed quite coldly and he slumped to the ground.
The attacker and another man walked off quite “boldly”.
“A table was thrown, a bottle was thrown at the individual with the knife and then we heard three gunshots and we ran,” he added.**

Just received word from a former student, she and her friends are in London, and luckily no where near this latest tragedy. Prayers for them and all who had the misfortune of being on this bridge and shopping area.

Have they discussed a possible motive? Like Trump pulling out of the Paris Accords? I just hope we don’t see an anti-Muslim back lash.

Are you seriously making jokes after a tragic terror attack and at a time when the assailants who have just mowed down and stabbed scores of innocent civilians are still at large in London?

That’s just sick and grossly insensitive. Have you no respect for the victims?

I haven’t heard about a motive yet. But I really doubt these terrorists are much concerned about the Paris climate change accords, unless you are joking about that.

My prayers for all the slain and injured and their families.

I prefer to think I’m ahead of the curve. Tomorrow prominent people will be cautioning against an anti-Muslim back lash and looking for something, anything, to blame other than the obvious. I’ve just decided to embrace the suck.

Whitehall has confirmed this as having been a potential terror incident. There have been fatalities and casualties. The assailants are still at large. They used a van and then five attackers armed with foot-long knives stabbed people on the street as well as in public buildings, including a waitress in a restaurant, from the reports I’ve heard.

**Theresa May releases statement
Sky News have reported a statement from Theresa May: “Following updates from police and security officials, I can confirm that the terrible incident in London is being treated as a potential act of terrorism.
“This is a fast-moving investigation. I want to express my huge gratitude to the police and emergency services who are on the scene. Our thoughts are with those who are caught up in these dreadful events.”**
It’s being treated as terrorism.

Police have declared two incidents in the capital – in London Bridge and Borough Market – as acts of terrorism.

On London Bridge a van was driven, apparently deliberately, into pedestrians.

At Borough Market, there are reports of multiple stabbings on the street, in pubs and restaurants. There were around five assailants.
