Vatican blocks Caroline Kennedy appointment as US ambassador

Vatican sources told Il Giornale that their support for abortion disqualified Ms Kennedy and other Roman Catholics President Barack Obama had been seeking to appoint.
Mr Obama was reportedly seeking to reward John F Kennedy’s daughter, who publicly gave her support to his election bid. She had been poised to replace Hillary Clinton as New York senator, but dropped out amid criticism that she lacked enough experience for the job.

Obama’s “advisers” seem to think he was elected ruler of the world.
Thanks be to God, that is FAR from the truth as to his authority.

I want to read a Catholic source for this…I am leery of believing much of what the Brits say about Rome

I hope this is true; ANY Kennedy would be a poor choice. While they are held up by the media as a “Catholic” family, I don’t know that there is a single one who is pro-life.

this claim has been refuted in recent days on various Catholic news outlets, and the Vatican itself has denied it. try to look for a valid reliable Catholic source

Good for the Vatican! You can’t be Catholic and pro-choice as the bumper stickers say. Does Obama think that just because a person claims to be Catholic he or she will be accepted by the Vatican? He’s very much mistaken.

I think B.O. is trying to get out of sending an ambassador to the Vatican. Whether the rumors reported are true or not really makes no difference, B.O. is trying to make the Vatican appear uncooperative. In the end, he may stir up enough sympathy to get around appointing an ambassador. If the U.S. does not send an ambassador, other countries may do the same thing. I think that eventually this could effect the how the world recognizes the Vatican as a city state.

P.S. Fr. Mitch Pacwa had a good analogy on his program “Threshold of Hope”. He said, “Sending a pro-abortion ambassador to the Vatican is like sending a Klu Klux Klan member to be an ambassador to South Africa. They both would be a grave insult.”🙂

i think that by suggesting her obama has shown his lack of respect for The Holy See, the Pope, and Catholicism in general. not that it should be a suprise to anyone.

Here is the Catholic News Agency on the Vatican’s take.
CNA contacted a Vatican official from the Office of the Secretary of State who said that he could not elaborate on the names that have been proposed so far by the Obama administration, but confirmed that the name of Professor Douglas Kmiec “never showed up.”
The official told CNA that “there have only been informal exchanges of opinions, not direct, official proposals,” from the Obama administration.
“Obviously, the exchange has not been fruitful in finding a mutually satisfying candidate, otherwise, at this point, there would have been an announcement, and there isn’t one.”
Asked if pro-abortion Catholic Caroline Kennedy was on the short-list proposed by the administration, the official said he had “no comment.”
Obviously she would not match the profile,” he said.

Don’t worry, he still has a long list of potential ambassadors, including Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry and Joseph Mengele. 😉

Father Mitch Paca commented on this very subject on his EWTN program “Threshold of Hope.”

He believes that the Obama administration is trying to force the Vatican to submit to the Pro Choice people – actually, they are a pro-abortion movement.

The Obama administration is a secular administration and seems to be determined to undermine the Catholic Church. Just look at the list of so-called Catholics who are appointed to positions within his administration.

Ms. Kennedy was the fourth pro-abortion Catholic whose name was submitted to the Holy See for appointment as ambassador, and was rejected by the Holy See.👍

Can we come up with the name of a legitimate Catholic who is pro-life and would make an excellent ambassador.:highprayer:

I suspect this president is going to have a very hard fall…God is not mocked
