How about a source that’s not “on the internet”…a theological library source maybe?

SFD
It’s the Catholic Encylcopedia on-line and it’s either the 1913 or 17 version. What’s your beef with that?

I have no “beef” with the CE…I was just asking where else one might find the information? Is the CE the only source you can think of?

I haven’t given it much thought but I could if you really like. If you have no beef with it, why isn’t it sufficient? You asked for a source and I gave you one.

Okay, bear06…I politely ask you for another source. 🙂

Bu twhat I’m wondering is why if you have no problem with the CE? Here’s my guess. You saw the word “article” in my original post, didn’t bother to check the link and thought it was an article from a random website instead of the CE.

Now, onto another source. I think, and I’m doing this from memory since all of my books are in the garage:crying: , that Ott (and I know you’ve got that book) discusses the organs of infallibility as outlined in the CE in the Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma.

Actually bear06, I just wanted to see if you could produce any source other than the CE. The CE is fine here…not the best…but okay.

P.S. Have your books have been in the garage for quite some time now? Mine are on the bookshelf right behind me. 🙂

How about:
Cappello,
Herve,
Iorio,
Lennerz,
Merkelbach,
Noldin,
Ott.

Authors you never studied, just read about, you fraud.

I believe I’ve quoted Herve, Ligouri, Merlekelbach, Franzelin, Ott, Van Noort, Scheeben, Tanquery, Pohle-Preuss…and some others. Who have you quoted? Nobody…all you do is quote that one section of the CIC and your own intrepretation of it.

You are a fraud. You quoted them as they were quoted by one of your heroes, Anthony Cekada, who has been excommunicated latae sententiae because he was ordained by a schismatic bishop, Lefebreve. You don’t have their manuals.

Has he repented and sought lifting of the excommunication reserved to the Holy See.

I just quoted Franzelin.

No one takes you seriously mrgfin…why don’t you grab a loaf of bread and head to your circus.

Home improvement is agonizing. I’ll be happy when my books can come back in and warm themselves up. They just don’t deserve the cold, dark garage. :crying:

I don’t get this little metaphor: it must be an age thing: bread and circus - please translate for me.

You got nothing: you got that schismatic Cekada, that’s all.

I might be wrong on this point (don’t think I am) but I don’t think the Vatican ever said that a priest was excommunicated simply for being ordained by Lefebvre. According to the Vatican the priests that have stayed with the SSPX are probably excommunicated for adhering to the schism but that is out of our authority to pronounce it so. We do know that the priests of the SSPX have been suspended. He’s now left the SSPX but to my knowledge the suspension hasn’t been lifted.

Oh…I don’t think it’s an “age thing”…it’s another kind of thing, for sure.

Try out penalties contained in these canons:
1364, 1371 #1, 1371 #2, 1373, 1383.
