Of course it does. The headlines make it seem as if he was fired simply for being gay rather than being in a relationship.

mine too!The Vatican has my full support on this.
Exactly!Maybe the fact that he not only is homosexual but also “has a partner” has something to do with why this priest, who vowed to be celibate, was fired.
Yes it is, as he’s still breathing. Is it too early to start talking Canonization for the priest?
This is the truth indeed, however, there will continue to be those who believe otherwise. The Church’s attitude is not a “backwards” attitude but rather they are following the rules that Jesus Christ, the founder of Our Church, has established. We are bound to do God’s will.
Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior, is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He and His rules do not change, neither will the Church officials change them.
Yes it is, as he’s still breathing.
Then shouldn’t he should go to those religions since he rejects Christ’s Catholic teaching, instead of masquerading as Catholic. For some who follow other religions or beliefs other than Catholic, it is not a sin
.
The media’s take is Church=bad. Defiant gay man=good. Church should change its dogmas to match media’s. It’s not complicated. Now, lets see how many secular people in the US feel about the Catholic faith! Will be interesting to see how the US media deals with this.
We are all sinners and we shouldn’t forget this. I also don’t think he needs to necessarily run away from the Church and join some other. What he needs to do first though is figure out what he wants to do with his life. Right now the issue here is that he violated his promise to God of celibacy he made at his ordination. Then shouldn’t he should go to those religions since he rejects Christ’s Catholic teaching, instead of masquerading as Catholic.
Why was the media and most of these people so happy about the Pope visit then? The media’s take is Church=bad. Defiant gay man=good. Church should change its dogmas to match media’s. It’s not complicated.
Exactly. Mainstream denominations that have caved to the secular Pervertarian Empire are losing members faster than if the buildings were on fire. It’s no mystery why. Why should anyone waste a Sunday morning listening to a Politically Correct sermon when you can get one for free by turning on the TV?The media’s take is Church=bad. Defiant gay man=good. Church should change its dogmas to match media’s. It’s not complicated.
A very charitable post, and AMEN.That’s what I think, too. “Having a partner” indicates he has sexual relations, and a priest makes a promise to his bishop and his bishop’s successors to remain chaste.
My heart goes out to him despite. His life is no doubt painful. I will pray for him.
