The Israelis implying, “We need our own nation because we can’t trust anyone else not to eventually turn evil and persecute us” is very insulting and does not endear me to their side.

Hi,cmforte,Why can’t there be ONE State made up of Palistinians AND Jews? (And other ethnic and religious groups for that matter). Why should either group claim exclusivity to the land? Sounds like ethnic and religious chuavinism to me…on both sides…

It,s not as simple as comparing the casualty numbers. It depends on who the aggressor was and if the attacks were offensive or defensive.Far more Palestinian civilians die from the Israeli military then Israeli citizens from Palestinian terrorists.
The people who don’t want two peaceful states. The “American 2 state solution” was wanted only by ONE side; and it was the weaker side. No good.
I don’t know much about China and Tibet, but I’d imagine the same holds. After all, the most populous nation on earth would oppose Tibetan nationhood.
Whereas, if majorities on both sides want the 2 state solution, who would stop it?

Your ignorance of sacred scripture is epic as is your understanding of biblical prophesy regarding the return of Jesus Christ and the role of the Hebrew people in it.While I am hardly pro-Islam, and think those who consider it a “religion of peace” are gravely mistaken, we must also be careful in making proclomations about any divine mandate for a modern Israel.
The true modern “Jewish” Church, the faith that Abraham, Isaac, Moses, Elijah, etc belonged to is…the Catholic Church. The Messiah they awaited came, died, and rose again.
Modern Jews are not the same religion as Jews of the Old Testament. I say that with charity and not as any kind of attack on anyone. It is simply a historical and theological truth. Modern Rabbinical Judaism is not some sort of alternate path to Heaven ordained by God. We know no one can get to Heaven except through Christ, and modern Jews reject Christ. We must pray for the conversion of all peoples to the One True Faith.
Pax and God Bless.
Yes it did.It didn’t actually say the Vatican supports a two state solution.
Unfortunately, she like other Palestinians in the same position, are going to have to abandon their desire for home return, if they truly want peace and to have a future for their children. My frend’s Palestinian grandmother still has the key to her old house in Israel. She hopes to be able to go back there someday.
Well unfortunately, the Jews have history to support their paranoia. The Israelis implying, “We need our own nation because we can’t trust anyone else not to eventually turn evil and persecute us” is very insulting and does not endear me to their side.

No I mean Northern Ireland ! But at least it’s only moral support that some Americans are offering a would be Islamic state, not like the bombs and bullets they supported terrorism in Northern Ireland with. You mean Palestine? You do realize that for every Israeli civilian who dies dozens of Palestinians die. The Palestinians are far and away the worse off. That’s why it is the Palestinians who are most opposed to the status quo, while the Israeli state is cimmitted to preserving it.
Wouldn’t really be practical. Most Israelis and most Palestinians want two states. A few on the extreme of one end want one happy state where everyone gets along, and a few other extremists want one Jewish state with the Palestinians being forceably removed or one Palestinian state with the Israelis forceably removed. Of all the options, the most moral and sensible one seems to be the two state one.
That is the definition of Zionism.I do not support zionism, but I do support that Jews have a homeland to call their own.
I’d rather see ALL US foreign aid suspended for about 20 years. Our economy is in the WC and we cannot afford any more do-gooding.I support now the Palestinians get their own state, but through negotiations with Israel and not the UN. Ultimately they have to live side-by-side with one another.
And lastly, I would like to see the US stop sending funding to the ME. If the Israelis want to buy weapons they can buy them, and money sent to the PA should stop as it goes to the pensions of imprisioned terrorists.

But I didn’t make that premiss. Before the creation of Israel that territory was Palestine. In fact exactly what you say should not happen is what did happen: the creation of a sovereign state for the Jewish people. The premise that every cultural group should be a sovereign nation is a dangerous one to take.
Many in Scotland and Wales would agree with you. They can go as far as I am concerned. On that premise, England should let the Scots and Welsh go, while the USA would…never mind.![]()
That is certainly understating the Middle Eastern problems. I think we assume its as simple as Jews against Muslims. It is not so simple. Many of the Arab/Muslim countries in the Middle East do not get on or trust each other.I’m not sure that anybody presently in the ME is acting in good faith
It is not OK. It is certainly not the stance any Christian should take. But, then we know how so-called Christians in Northern Ireland treat each other. Violence is not the answer. It is not the answer that any one who claims to be a true Christian can take. And there is no way there can be any claim for a just war in the Middle East or Northern Ireland. It,s totally ok. If you had ever lived in a country were people were regularly scraped of the street you would know.
You defend the indefensible by condemning Israel for defending herself. As far as Christians killing one another in Northern Ireland I have never seen it. I have seen and I mean seen terrorists killing Christians i.e rupublican and loyalist terrorists killing Catholic and Protestant Christians. Their have even been occasions when English troops have murdered Irish Roman Catholics, but* never, never* have I seen or heard of a follower of Christ kill another follower of Christ.
No. Zionism was the movement leading Jews back to Erez Israel, (the land of Israel; known since the Romans, who drove the Jews out, as Palestine) beginning in the 1800s. The term was coined in 1897 by Theodore Herzl, meaning the "return to Mount Zion, in Jerusalem.Might be my bad, but I thought zionism was the Jews return to the temple. That was my understanding of it, so again, I may be wrong. I would hate to see animals slaughtered as sacrifice when Christ was the perfect sacrifice for all time.
How dare you make this assumption!! You see, this is what I am talking about!! History is history, it is in the past. And I wasn’t even around then!! Neither was the majority of people today!! How dare anyone accuse me of being sub-conciously and naturally anti-Semitic and ready to persecute Jews at the drop of a hat!! Are they spychic? Are they God? Can they read the hearts and mnds of all non-Jews?Well unfortunately, the Jews have history to support their paranoia.

Its also not an alternative that either Jews or Palestinians like. Its inconceivable that Israel would allow itself to exist with a Muslim majority or that a Muslim majority would agree to be ruled by a Jewish state. One state? It might not be an alternative you or I like, but it’s a possibility to be sure.
