This good news fills me with true joy.
I love Archbishop Fulton Sheen, but I never knew he was bi-ritual until this picture. So, I did a quick search and found the following: wkyc.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=129990. I’m sure there’s more, but thanks for sharing the pic. I wouldn’t have known otherwise. Thanks be to God, glorified by all his saints and the saintly!
Eternal memory to His servant, Archbishop Fulton Sheen!

Indeed, he was a pioneer in many respects.I love Archbishop Fulton Sheen, but I never knew he was bi-ritual until this picture. Before he left the Peoria Diocese, he served as a parish priest in the parish my Dad’s familly lived in.(The following is from an email I got today from the Sheen Foundation that gives a timeline of his ministry)
In 1955, Venerable Archbishop Sheen became the first Latin Rite bishop ever to offer a Solemn Byzantine Rite Mass in English – for more than 150,000 in Uniontown, Pa. In 1966, he was elected Chairman of the Committee for the Propagation of the Faith. Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Rochester, N.Y., in Oct. 1966, and as Archbishop of the Titular See of Newport, Wales, in Oct. 1969.
That would be very cool indeed. Before he left the Peoria Diocese, he served as a parish priest in the parish my Dad’s familly lived in.
I’m trying to hunt down their baptismal certificates to see if there is any chance he may have baptized one or more of them.
That would be soooo cool.
God bless you for sharing this.A run down on what is now going on with the his Cause
