“I firmly believe that Black Lives Matter, but I DO NOT agree with the coercive measures taken to get this point across; some of which are falsified in an attempt to prove a point. While I want to get behind BLM, I do not think people should be made to feel they have to choose black race over human race. While I understand the urgency to feel compelled to advocate for black lives, what about our fellow law enforcement? What about all others who advocate for and demand equity for all? Just because I don’t walk around with a BLM sign should not mean I am a racist [sic]”

Principal for 5 years and she was fired. That is her exact quote on facebook. You can’t express an opinion and she probably should have known that.

Well look at Drew Brees. He’s asked a question in an interview on Yahoo Sports about what he thinks about kneeling during the National Anthem. He gives an honest answer, nothing personal towards anyone, just his opinion, (one I agree with by the way) and all hell breaks loose! He shouldn’t have caved in to those libs!

Drew Brees"s wife quickly came back with “We are the problem” . That is where we are. There can be no other opinion.

Gotta take the ribbon.

Vermont is a very progressive state. It has a very small number of black residents. It has likewise a very small number of extremists both ways, either the “white nationalist’ type OR the Bernie socialist type.

The vast majority of its people just want to do what’s best for themselves and each other. Often they disagree on HOW to do that, but until really the last few years when the radical polarization of society took off, you could live between a Republican and a Democrat and have cordial relations with both, yourself being an independent (Vermont does not require you to choose a political camp when you register to vote), because while the Democrat was extolling the local hospital choosing to unionize, and the Republican was worried about ‘free speech’, they both supported what an individual or a group chose to do even if they didn’t want to do it themselves, and respected the other side.

Now. . .not so much.

If you live in an area that is pretty much outside of the Burlington metro you used to be able to go your own way, but again, now people are literally out there LOOKING for ways to virtue-shame, Doxx, agitate, etc. I think a lot of these are rather ‘professional’ and they tend to work by threatening ‘exposure’, so to speak. With all the federal funding and all the difficulties individual schools, and businesses have had with lost revenue, schools are very vulnerable as it is. Even with a Republican Governor (and he has done very well with this crisis), we all know that what Vermont ‘gets’ from the Feds will have a lot of things factored into it. Some hot button topics are just too hot for there to be seen as any question whatsoever. It’s a shame.

Yeah, I read what his wife said. Sad. I have a huge problem with the way they caved. If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s when someone takes a stand on an issue they believe in, the moment they receive some blowback, they cower in a corner and capitulate like it’s nobody’s business! As you say, gotta take the ribbon.

I saw a video this morning of Tucker Carlson mentioning that, that if you criticize BLM in the slightest amount you can lose your job. It’s quite remarkable and troubling. He discusses a few examples of that.

Republican governor Scott is a fiscal conservative on money but the fiscal liberal or abortion. Did he not put in euthanasia when he first took office? Otherwise he would not have gotten elected.

Doesn’t surprise me that this teacher got fired for voicing an opinion. Descent of any form is not allowed.

Again gotta take the ribbon.

I’m continuously baffled as to why teachers constantly have to be expressing their controversial opinions on social media. I don’t do that myself and don’t understand why people are surprised when there are consequences to their actions. Especially when the world is not waiting with bated breath to hear what the principal of some K-12 school thinks of national affairs.

Why is it controversial? She said she believes in BLM but has a problem with what is currently going on.

For this she is fired because of being “insanely tone deaf”.

It’s controversial because any post on BLM is going to draw a firestorm right now and a school principal serves a community with many different views. When you’re in a position of public responsibility like that, you should just leave your opinions off social media and any other public channel if you want to keep your job. if your self-expression is more important than whether you get fired, go right ahead and speak, but like I said, actions have consequences.

That is not just for teachers but for anyone who has a job. Shut your mouth and don’t speak or else. Most know that.

That can become a problem when there is no dessenting opinion.

Video By Tucker Carlton addresses that. BLM is above reproach.

The principal should sue. Clear violation of the 1st amendment.

We need to be teaching our children that if someone voices an opinion you don’t like, then refute it with a cogent argument. All this does is teach that if you don’t like someone else’s opinion, then hurt them, get them fired, go after their family, or prevent them from speaking.

I watched Tucker last night and saw his whole piece. What he said scared me. I’m beginning to think learning a new language and finding a new place to live might not be the worst thing ever. Tuscany is beautiful!
