it has become so bogged down with tradition and long winded explanations that almost defy understanding

and doctrines that have come only from man’s mind and too far away from God’s Mind
One example is the practice of choosing only seminarians that claim to accept celibacy. (The only exception is the ones that are married when they enter seminary.) Jesus and Paul make it clear that it’s okay, yet harder, to serve God as pastors, bisops, etc. and be married (or get married).

I have to say this…

catholicism is not bible based!!!
No, it wouldn’t be. Catholicism existed before the Bible, the Catholic Church codified the Bible. The Bible is Catholic-based.

I think we can all agree, though, that without Our Lady, Holy Mary, Mother of God, there would be NO Bible…AT ALL.

The Bible isn’t written very well if you are correct. It fails to support some of your understandings.

If Mary rejected God’s plan, God would have raised up someone else. The glory goes to God and Him ALONE.

Just because one may fail to understand the Bible does not mean that the Bible is incorrect.

Ahhh, but, that’s just it, now then, isn’t it. She didn’t. She accepted God’s Will in It’s entirity. We cannot thank Her enough and we cannot praise the Trinity enough FOR Her. She is the single greatest woman EVER and not one loved like Her nor did God’s will like Her. No woman sacrificed more than Her. She was TOTALLY dedicated to God. Connecting this to the OP, She carried Christ in every way.

No argument from me. The Holy Spirit did a GREAT job with the Bible, whether or not I understand it or not.

My guess is Mary would say, ‘don’t thank me, I was just doing my reasonable service.’ She may say, as Paul said, ‘follow me as I follow Jesus.’

Did the verse say ‘above’ women or did it say ‘among’ women. If it said ‘above’ you are correct; if it said ‘among’ you are incorrect, IMO.

The “Bible” consists of the Old Testament and the New Testament.

While there is some disagreement as to which books in the New Testament should or should not be considered the God Inspired, the Old Testament is well established. God dictated to Moses what to write down in the Torah ( as scholars mostly agree) and the other books are the prophets by which Jesus can be measured to have fulfilled perfectly and the future events must happen. Also Jerusalem and israel and of, the history.

Not one word of either testament was written by any other person but by a Jew.

The Word is Truth. All of it. There may be difficulty in the exchage of language for fair accuracy, but God’s Word is Truth. All if it.

We have only the people Israel to thank for Scripture( the bible is the books of Holy Scripture) whether they were Jews before the birth of Christ, or Jews who followed Christ.

It is not as I see it but rather as it is Written. When in doubt, i will go with the plain written text, as God inspired, and seek to understand it.

Mary was the Woman, as her Son called her. Thank God for her obedience.

Didn’t say non-Jews ever wrote it, I said the Catholic Church codified it. It is thanks to the Catholic Church that we have the Bible. It is the men of the Church that preached, preserved, and copied the Bible.

But, that’s just it, if it was so plain, it wouldn’t be divisive.

Mary IS The Woman. Thank God for Her obedience indeed!

If only we could just go back to the simple Truth of Scripture and celebrate Mass

Confess sin and forget all about penence and indulgences and wearing scapulars

and pray ONLY to God, the Triune God ( Father, Son , And holy Spirit)
**PRAY in what sense?

Whenever you ask a favor of someone - you have prayed.
Whenever you have asked for sombody’s help - guess what? You prayed to them.
Whenever we ask a member of the Body of Christ here on earth to pray for us - we have PRAYED to them. Learn your English language - you might be surprised. To pray simply means to ask or to petition somebody.

As for prayer to God in worship - we reserve that for Him ALONE. Are you under the false impression that we worship somebody else?

In common every day conversation, do you tell your child you are praying to her/him when you ask them to do you a favor???

Nit-picking and insult reduces your argument to silliness.

If you say your veneration does not cross over into worship, I believe you.

Is it wrong to go directly to the Throne of God in prayer?

What saddens me is that there are catholics who feel unworthy(for they have told me so), or it isn’t allowed ( for they have told me so).

Why are you so angry? Talking about our Christian faith should be joyful.

I see your emphasis. yes, she has life more abundently . Thank you Jesus.

Good observations, all of them.

I’d love to see a comment by you that doesn’t put down the person you are disagreeing with. I don’t think you have that kind of love in you.

BTW, thank you for telling me something that is common knowledge (chapter and verse numbers - however, it sure does help us have this conversation now that there are chapter and verses).

As for the Ark of the New Covenant - did you give us the reference?
Cool it you two. You both have so much to offer lets avoid the ad hominems.

**Who’s angry?? Certainly not me. I LOVE sharing the faith with anti-Catholics. It gives them a chance to be better-educated about Christ’s Church - and I’m happy to help.

**As for nitpicking - how do you feel that I am nitpicking? I was merely giving you a sorely-needed education in the English language. So many of you anti- Catholics use words yet have absolutely no inderstanding of them. If you don’t believe me anout the word, “Pray” - look it up.

**As for going directly to God in prayer - not only is it right, it is essential. Jesus himself told us time and again to go to the Father when we are in need (Luke 11:1-13). I REALLY don’**t understand why you have a problem with intercessory prayer, though.

Haven’t you ever asked a friend or relative to pray for you? I’ll bet you have. Are you doing wrong by asking someone to pray for you on your behalf? Absolutely not. Apparently, you don’t know your Bible because we are admonished to do just that for one another (James 5:16).

If we are indeed all parts of the Body of Christ, then asking a saint in Heaven to pray for us is the same
as asking a person here on earth to do the same. In fact, the only difference is that those in Heaven have been made perfect and righteous because nothing unclean can enter Heaven (Rev. 21:27). *“The fervent prayer of a righteous man is very powerful” *(James 5:16).

**Too bad you and Doki have taken it upon yourselves to oust all of those in heaven *out *of the Body of Christ . . . **

You have just prayed to ME for an answer. Are you now a pagan??
In common every day conversation, do you tell your child you are praying to her/him when you ask them to do you a favor???

Your answer is … (fill in the blank)

I’m sure you are not saying Mary IS the Ark Moses built. Therefore, there must be at least one other Ark. From the Bible, how many other Arks are there? I have found One. Am I correct? If so, is that Mary?
I’m still a little unclear what you’re getting at here. In Old Testament there was a box covered in Gold set apart for a holy purpose which contained the Word of God, the Bread of Heaven and the symbol of the Priesthood.

This was a foreshadowing of what would happen in the New Testament when a new covenant would be made by God. There would be a woman who would hold in her womb the Word of God, the Bread of Heaven and our Great High Priest.

It’s typology, the Old and New testaments shedding light upon each other.

Clerical celibacy is a matter of discipline and may change at some point in the future, even though it is witnessed to by the Early Church. This is a discipline in the Latin Rite is due to the recommendation of both Jesus and St. Paul. If Jesus and St. Paul recommend something then I think it’s probably a good idea to take their advice 🙂

According to Hebrews 8:5 the Ark (as part ot the Tabernacle) that Moses made was done so by looking at the pattern of the real Ark (Tabernacle) God showed him which is in Heaven.

It’s clear the New Covenant Ark pre-existed the Old Covenant Ark.
