…despite the argument in the 16th century over the deutero-canonical volumes…While there is some disagreement as to which books in the New Testament should or should not be considered the God Inspired, the Old Testament is well established.
You’re assuming that St. Luke wasn’t a gentile? That’s two books of the New Testament right there (not that ethnicity matters at all - Col 3:11)Not one word of either testament was written by any other person but by a Jew.
Even if you’re faithfully converting it from one language (Hebrew/Greek) to another (English), once you’ve faithfully transmitted the what the text says, determining what it means is a whole other challenge. The Word is Truth. All of it. There may be difficulty in the exchage of language for fair accuracy, but God’s Word is Truth. All if it.
…and that is where the challenge really starts because “to read Scripture is to interpret Scripture”.It is not as I see it but rather as it is Written. When in doubt, i will go with the plain written text, as God inspired, and seek to understand it.
Mary was the Woman, as her Son called her. Thank God for her obedience.
The Woman indeed:
“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel” - The proto-evangelium, Genesis 3:15
