While there is some disagreement as to which books in the New Testament should or should not be considered the God Inspired, the Old Testament is well established.
…despite the argument in the 16th century over the deutero-canonical volumes…
Not one word of either testament was written by any other person but by a Jew.
You’re assuming that St. Luke wasn’t a gentile? That’s two books of the New Testament right there (not that ethnicity matters at all - Col 3:11)
The Word is Truth. All of it. There may be difficulty in the exchage of language for fair accuracy, but God’s Word is Truth. All if it.
Even if you’re faithfully converting it from one language (Hebrew/Greek) to another (English), once you’ve faithfully transmitted the what the text says, determining what it means is a whole other challenge.
It is not as I see it but rather as it is Written. When in doubt, i will go with the plain written text, as God inspired, and seek to understand it.
…and that is where the challenge really starts because “to read Scripture is to interpret Scripture”.

Mary was the Woman, as her Son called her. Thank God for her obedience.

The Woman indeed:

“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel” - The proto-evangelium, Genesis 3:15

In common every day conversation, do you tell your child you are praying to her/him when you ask them to do you a favor???

Your answer is … (fill in the blank)
Nope - and I usually don’t tell our Blessed Mother that I’m praying to her to ask for her help.

What’s your point? Prayer is still prayer - whether or not you tell somebody you’re praying . . .🤷

There ends the English lesson.

According to Hebrews 8:5 the Ark (as part ot the Tabernacle) that Moses made was done so by looking at the pattern of the real Ark (Tabernacle) God showed him which is in Heaven.

It’s clear the New Covenant Ark pre-existed the Old Covenant Ark.
Oh, Doki - WHY is it that you cannot see the reality that is eternity.

Here is another quick lesson:
1. God is outside of time, therefore he is not subject to it.

2. Our lives, in fact ALL of human history is done and completed in his sight.

**Still with me? Okay, let’s move on.

3. To God - everything is a finished work - a painting, if you will.

**4. Now - here is the BIG one: **Because of this, God can choose to show you, me or Moses whatever he wants in eternity because - you guessed it - there is NO time!

The fact that you have no grasp on the concept of eternity blows ALL of your Ark theories out of the water. Don’t you think the Church in its wisdom and guided by the Holy Spirit (John 16:12-15) has already addressed issues like this in its 2000 year history?

Elvisman,
You are a sharp guy and based on my understandings you are far and away correct. Your logic exceeds no one. What you have in intellect and argumentations skills is outdone by your ascerbic manner. You could win oh so many to the faith if you do not burn them first.
“A person convinced against their will of of the same opinion still” Sorry if I have offended you. We need people like you like toast needs butter; but holy cow! you add tobisco sauce.👍

**It is more a situation of whether to spare the rod and spoil the child. **

Have you been reading the entire thread? Dokimas created it in order to trap the Catholic posters into a false dichotomy because he doesn’t understand the concept of eternity. **
We have a long history of debating each other on a multitude of topics and his tactic is always the same: No matter what he is told in a conversation, whether a teaching of the Catholic Church or a historical fact - he ignores the information you have given him and simply continues his attacks as if you had said nothing.
So, Doki is only reaping what he has sown.

He doesn’t anger me, although conversations with his are sometimes frustrating.

P.S. – Thanks for the kinds words at the beginning of your post . . . 👍

Now, back to the topic.

Easy to dodge when you’re making a silly point that has no bearing on our discussion. At least you’re not being unkind. It’s a nice change, at any rate.

Some ARE married.
Ummm . . . if you did your homewrok, you’d have known that.
If you’d follow what the discussion is, you’d know I’m NOT speaking of the ones that are married. I refering to the ones that can’t get married according to the CC.

FYI, I understand that God is outside time. Mary must be outside time too, to be the Ark in Heaven spoken of in Hebrews 5:8.

Do you then believe in OSAS from God’s perspective?

If your answer is the position of the CC on the issue at hand, it’s not at all convincing. Using that argument, you could claim just about anything.

IMO, Elvis thinks he’s correct at times when infact he’s incorrect.

Now you’re playing God in my life. WOW. Is that what the ‘el’ in Elvis stands for?

As I’ve stated - I’v been wrong many times in my life - but never, when parroting the teachings of the Church, which is the “pillar and foundation of truth” (1 Tim. 3:15).

Well just as my boot camp instructor would say: Opinions are like dirty socks,we all have them and at times they can stink:cool:

Hmmm . . . I guess you never read my last post where I briefly explained the concept of eternity to you. I suggest you go back and read it.

Because of eternity and his sovreignty over it, God can choose to show you, me or Moses whatever he wants in eternity because there is NO time!
He can show Mary or me or you to Adam and Eve. Is
any
of this sinking in?**

Lastly - Do I believe in OSAS from God’s perspective? What wold that be?

dcastlen50 - do you now understand why I dealt with Doki the way i did?

Huh??
What does your behahior and somebody’s reaction to it have anything to do with playing God?? 🤷
My understanding is that only God has the right to impliment ‘reaping what is sown’.

You said your way of dealing with me is for me to ‘reap what’ I’ve ‘sown’.

Seems you don’t read carefully what you write or you don’t understand what the implications are of your words, IMO.

**That’s like telling a teacher or a parent that they can’t or shouldn’t **correct a strong-willed and disruptive child.

You reap what you sow. You sow curt and abrupt posts, you get curt and abrupt reponses. You pretend to read the posts yet are oblivious to the information contained in them - you get more information.**

**It’s not revenge or judgementalism - it’s just how people like you wish to converse. **
Now - are you going to answer my response to you or do you want to continue your games?

The question I pose was in response to your question:
Do I believe in OSAS from God’s perspective? What would that be?

Please let me know what this has to do with the topic (Was/Is Mary the Ark?).
