The rainbow sashers are heretics.
To me they are children of God struggling with a disorder of a magnitude that I can’t imagine. And with gratitude to God, I thank him that my crosses are not so heavy. I pray often for the conversion of their hearts by the Holy Spirit and that all who minister do so in a way that they can see the Face of Christ.

What they are doing is promoting a heresy (obstinate post-baptismal denial of some truth which must be believed with divine and catholic faith).

For you to judge them heretics, you must have insight into their heart. However, only God (and the Church after due investigation and trial) can make that judgment.

For you to have that insight, you’d have to be God. Your judgment is a statement of Presumption (assuming that which is exclusively God’s). One who commits the Sin of Presumption has committed blasphemy and that is a grave matter. As I can’t judge your heart, I don’t make the judgment that you have done so but you and God can.

They reject Catholic Church teaching, Orionthehunter, that’s fact you’ll have to accept.

Heretic=one who questions or rejects a teaching contained in sacred scripture or in the Church’s magisterium and doctrine.

Rainbow Sash rejects the Church’s teaching on homosexuality. And they have been defiant towards the Vatican. Plain and simple. That was not presumption.

Let’s get back on topic, folks, and remember to be charitable. Thanks.

I don’t know where you learned that anger was a sin, but those scriptures say otherwise. What matters is why we’re angry and how we deal with the anger.

CCC # 1866:
“Vices can be classified according to the virtues that oppose, or also be linked to the capital sins which Christian experience has distinguished, following St. John Cassian and St. Gregory the Great. They are called “capital” because they engender other sins, other vices. They are pride, avarice, envy, wrath, lust, gluttony, and sloth or acedia.”
Wrath is another name for anger.

Or, from an even better source,
“You have heard that it was said to the men of old, ‘You shall not kill; and whoever kills shall be liable to judgment.’ but I say to you that every one who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment.”
(Mt 5:21-22)

Paul’s quote raises the possibility that some anger is just; on the other hand, St. John Cassian (in his Institutes) says very definitely that anger is always sinful. He also cautions strongly against using God’s anger as justification for our own. “Vengeance is mine,” says the Lord, so we need not exercise anger. Rather, we make our appeal to God and wait for His judgment.

Thank you for arguing from Scripture–I hope that this reply is helpful.

They are promoting a teaching contrary to the Chruch’s teaching. I agree.

They have been defiant. I agree.

However, you have no authority to make the very serious charge of being a heretic. You can say they are promoting a heresy but I repeat you have no authority (unless you are a member of the Magisterium or a tribunal commissioned for this purpose) to declare someone a heretic.

It seems to me that, that there’s no evidence that Regnum Christi was starting a parallel church. I’m just saying, there’s not enough evidence.
And you have seen all the evidence? Does a bishop have to supply all evidence he has to people in his diocese, and even those outside of it, to justify his decisions?

I think not. Again, obedience.

Everything is being discussed in this thread except the question raised in the original post, despite my request to get back on topic. It is now closed.
