Was Muhammad a Prophet of the Judeo-Christian God ?

As far as why Judaism still exists after Jesus-- the prophets of the Jewish scriptures themselves say that the Messiah will be rejected by his Jewish kin. Most Jews have, in fact, accepted Jesus as the Messiah. I personally am of Jewish descent. I have jewish family members still, but most have accepted Jesus as the Messiah. Think about it. The Jewish population in 150 AD was about 4.2 million. By the time the 1900s came around they were around 16.5 million. Not much growth for 1800 years. Were jewish women all barren? Were a huge number of them celibate? No and no. The majority have accepted the Jewish messiah over the ages. And in the End the last ones will also, just as Jesus predicted.

It’s not about the “continued existance” of Judaism. It’s about the fact that Judaism taught one thing, then Jesus came along and said another thing.

When a Jew analysed Jesus’ teaching it was false, pure and simple.
And so, to a Jew, there is no Judeo-Christian God.

Of course, when a Jew is given a new heart and a new soul with new eyes to see, given by Lord Jesus, they suddenly see a Judeo-Christian God, to which they were blind to before. There are so many Jews that don’t see that, much to their ill-fortune!

Likewise, when Allah bestows on a Christian a new heart, and a new soul and new eyes to see, we suddenly have Muhammad as a Prophet of the Judeo-Christian God. There are so many Christians that don’t see that, much to their ill-fortune!

Rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat from the beginning of time.

How do we put ourselves in a position for God to grace us with new eyes?
Only those with courage to walk with God actually walk with Him. The rest are following the shadows and footsteps of their ancestors even though God is knocking on their front door telling them to come over and follow His footsteps instead.

Of course Mohammad was not a prophet sent from God. He was a false prophet. And the Church has always taught that he was a false prophet. His deceitful doctrines lead souls away from Jesus Christ and His Church.
 
And yet , Muhammed, who you claim is a true prophet, taught that any who do not submit to Islam are to be killed.

Mind you, all that is different from whether Mohammed’s exact revelation was God-inspired or not. Muslims certainly do seem to worship the God of Abraham, but the actual topic of the thread is different.

  2. What do you understand by the term “submit to Islam”?

My understanding is that the word Islam means submission.

You know, when you’ve got some spare time from busily trying to convert people, you might find trying to understand other religions on their own terms - rather than just telling their adherents what it is that they believe - quite illuminating.

Not so much fun, possibly.

I’ve not mentioned my religion in this thread. It’s a far cry from trying to convert lol

It’s simply an observation sister Kaninchen.

There has never been a new religion claiming to be a successor to a previous one where the entirety of the previous religion have joined allegiance with the new Prophet.

It is a real fact that many lovers of Moses are blinded to Jesus light.

Do you see Divinity and holiness in Jesus?

And Christians could say “Báb and Bahá’u’lláh lovers” are blind to Jesus’ true light. Do you realize how that can be seen as rude, perhaps? 🤷

This may very well be so dear Micosil.

I don’t think an objective observation should be misconstrued as rudeness.

Remember, this whole area of this thread began with Techno stating that only Jews that have become Christian see God as a Judeo-Christian God.

What do you think is the cause of this sudden realisation in ex-Jews/converted Christians?
Is it the Jewish eye opening to Christ, or the Jewish eye CLOSING (or never was open to begin with) to Moses?

It seems to me, Servant19, that you share an error with many Christian posters, it’s the idea that Christianity = Judaism + Jesus/Judaism = Christianity - Jesus.

The thing is that they’re very, very different religions, they don’t ‘work’ the same way, they have very different foci, very different ‘preoccupations’. If you understood that, you might find waffle like ‘many lovers of Moses are blinded to Jesus light’ rather embarrassing.

I don’t see it like that necessarily Kaninchen, but that is the insistence of each previous Dispensation.

Christians say that Christianity is the fulfilment of Judaism though. Jews, naturally deny this. So who is right?

How do we go about sorting this all out?

For a start, understanding religions on their own terms might help.
