Yesterday at our son’s graduation from his Catholic high school, two older LDS missionaries came to the graduation. They were there for one of the students and were wearing their missionary name tags.
A) it’s their uniform they wear everywhere. Do you disapprove of them coming?
I didn’t see them but have no problem with them being there.
Why? For diversity!
It’s an “in your face” attitude, strangely no other church requires members to always “make a statement” at other people’s events. Why do LDS missionaries have to “make a statement” everywhere they go? Can’t they just be humble and blend in, why do they always have to advertise for the LDS church.

I said no thanks. They pass out business cards now, which is new. I wonder if the landscaping businesses around here know the missionaries are competing.Do you send your daughter to Catholic school now, where you currently live? If not, why only in Utah would you send her to Catholic school?
This crosses a line in my opinion. I wonder if missionaries put a BoM at the door of every Christian church that morning or if they singled the Catholic Church out?
My son is a frequent altar server at our nearby parish and he found a Book of Mormon that had been “left” in the vestibule. When he asked Monsignor what he should do with it, he said “humph! Throw it in the trash!”

My husband is really bugged about the whole thing and thinks they were trying to show off at a Catholic event. He said to see what would happen if two Catholics showed up to one of their events wearing big crosses.My parents went on their mission with their tags on and didn’t take them off until they got home. Sometimes I think Mormons work hard at being a “peculiar people”. The tags are a requirement of the LDS Church, to wear them 24/7. Ok, I don’t think they wear them to bed.

Eh well, they don’t like street preachers yelling on the street outside their religious places.
This whole idea of going to a place of worship to basically make sneak attack, a passive-aggressive move sounds like desperation to me. I mean really, who would think anyone coming out of their house of worship would see a BoM on the step and think, “Maybe I’ve been doing it wrong all these years, I think I change to being Mormon.” Up thread the term predatory was used and this is exactly where that comes from.
I don’t blame them I wouldn’t like it either.
But they think it’s okay to leave the BoM at Catholic churches?
I see leaving BsoM at other peoples churches as being in very poor taste. It is rude, and disrespectful of the beliefs and practices of everyone in the church and the building, and the person doesn’t even have the guts to own up to it. But it doesn’t come close to people outside your church preaching on the street against your church, even though they do have the guts to own up to their actions.
I believe most protesters were at Temple Square and LDS administration offices, not at local ward houses.
