Pope Benedict XVI’s
strong stance against homosexuality makes him a dangerous threat to gay causes across the world, gay activists and religious experts said.

Pope Benedict XVI is exactly the man we need at this time in history.
Thank you Father. :gopray: **

Nobody’s bashing gay people on this thread.
Really, just take a look, I qoute:

“It’s a culture built on hate” - first off, thats wrong, if you are going to be mean at least get it right, secondly, that, I believe qualifies as bashing their culture, its not exactly fair, moaning about them again when they can’t fight back.

Oh for God’s sake cop on. You know your self righteous nonsense really annoys me.

The homosexual culture is what I am talking about NOT all those who are homosexual.

I know homosexual folk who do not prescribe to the prevailing culture and I know some who do. Those who do, belong to something that spreads hate against almost everything heterosexual. The culture indoctrinates intolerence to the point of hatred.

The culture is anti-family, the culture is hedonistic.

Active prescribers of the homosexual culture HATE the Church and HATE the Holy Father, however, not all homosexuals hate the Church or hate the Holy Father so you see there is a difference my good man.

Do you want me to spell that out for you or do you think you can look it up yourself?? A little google search will reveal what I am talking about.

It doesn’t concern me if some people here dont take me seriously, it just convinces me even more to take seriously the stereotypes and prejudices people told me about Conservative American Christians, I was really hoping I could be proven worng…

You know very well that is not true, what about groups such as Dignity, they campaign for the gay culture, and wish to show their love for the church and the holy father.

Self righteous? I am merely passing an observation, there is no need for the personal attack, do you think that such accusations promote the idea to me that you are a loving christian?

Are you embarrassed by us American Christians? Seems like you are. The stereotypes and prejudices you got were evidently from people who ill-informed about the faith.

Showing opposition to Church teachings and being defiant on sexual morality is not love, Libero. It’s hate. Evidently, you and I have a different understanding of hate. You have given in the positivistic pragmatic attitudes that have captivated our society. The faith in Europe is almost dead.

You used your own words against yourself.

Certainly not embarressed, I always look in wonder at American Christianity, the TV evangelists and the rock concert sermons, it is so different to anything I have experienced, and yes these people probably are ill informed about the faith, but unfortunately when you offer to help them understand, they are already blinded by the prejudices they cry out.

We have a very different understanding of hate, I really dislike using the word hate, as I feel it has lost its meaning, it no longer has the affiliation with pure evil, the people of Dignity are misguided and are desperately wishing to feel wanted as they are, they are not full of hate. The faith in Europe is dead, but it would be in America should they have such a history as ours, one cannot really describe the faith in America as alive, when courts rule to prevent the teaching of intelligent design - even we have that in our non Christian schools.

Thats a matter of opinion - it appears my words are often misinterpreted, this is frequently the case…

St. Augustine says that “sin blinds the conscience”. Either they don’t understand the truth, or they know the truth but don’t want to understand.

Once again, feeling wanted and wishing that people accept their immoral lifestyle is still sin and is still hateful. And I didn’t say they were full of hate. They may be misguided, but it’s like a judge said, “ignorance of the law is no excuse”. Therefore, I find it hard to believe that we have a bunch of invincibly ignorant Dignity members wondering around because the opportunity to repent is always there. Matthew says in 7:13-14 “Enter by the narrow gate, for the path that is wide that leads to destruction, those who enter it are many, for the path that is narrow those who find it are few”. And the Church fathers even say there is more people in hell than in heaven.

Whatever.

Most likely the first, but I have to say, people such as Cardinal O’Connor and his “controversial” views attract alot of attention, this in the eyes of an atheist teenager is translated into negative church propoganda - I do sort of understand why they have such prejudices to my religion, and I feel that showing love and trying to help them is the best way to combat my anti Catholic acquantainces.

hate means to detest, I really am unsure about using that word for these people, many members of dignity feel they were driven to the decision to join, we cannot just criticise them without knowing their background, maybe they weren’t always “invincibly ignorant” and it is for that reason that I support pastors like the new Archbishop of SF - who many have criticised for his work to help homosexuals.
I can’t help but cringe when I hear that, I always associate it with “chavs” 😃

Talking to you is like talking to a wall.

I becoem enraged at some of the things blasted at Pope Benidict. He’s a nazi? He was very young during the war, and I’d like you to face the army, or the gas chamber. Besides, he fled the Nazis.

Pope Benidict has even said we can not outcast gays . long Live POpe Benidict!

In this “Brave New World” its all about passion. Its all about filling up my needs for sexual pleasure. But what happens when all of that passes away? All things end…all things change except for God…the world is passing, Jesus is not…he’s the only one that can make us happpy.

My heart fills with angar at the arrogence and ignorence of the present day. I must keep in thoughts that are not Christen. But Christ was mocked too, and he offered it up…yes it sounds easior then it really is.

But as the phrase goes “if it were ever easy, everyone would be doing it.”

And I supose one last thought comes to mind…a little praeyr…Have mercy on them Lord…for they do not know what they do. And there but for the grace of God…THERE GO I! Oh Sacred Heart of Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary…we trust in you! Amen

Talking to you is like talking to a wall.
It really isn’t, not only have you just made a very uncharitable remark, you have also done so without finding anything out about me - I spent ages talking in one thread once about the Catholic understading of hell (which I do struggle with) and subsequently I do feel that I have come more inline with church teachings regarding hell. I would ask you please to try and look into the person who you are about to add an accusation to before you do so next time. 😦

Okay, folks, it’s a new year, full of faith, hope and charity for all. Let’s get back on topic and away from sniping at each other. Let’s all resolve to be nice to each other this year so we can engage in more meaningful discussions and grow in the faith.

I agree - wishful thinking? 😃

Is this just going to be a “gay bashing” thread? Not very Christian, but they did hit us first though…
They?
What a sick joke…a joke of course.

Oh I am only using the language that people here are familiar with. 😉
Pope and Catholic bashers have cut the stinkin’ cheese and you have the nerve to say it wasn’t their smell first.
Get real. I know the truth has been spelled out to you and many others many times on these forums. What don’t you understand by now?
Pope and Catholic bashers who wrote the article in the OP post smell like bad cut cheese.
Your post…

…is doubly stinkin’ of cut cheese because you actually have the nerve to blame someone else for the stench.
Fess up when the smell is your own.

Wow wow wow contemplative, I said I agreed with the moderator, and I am going to stick with it even if you care not to.

I am addressing a post (#18) you made earlier up on this thread and I am adhering to the moderators requests. If someone cuts the cheese and blames the Pope I am not going be quiet.

I see it very differently, and I also suggest you calm down, I also don’t have a clue what you are talking about going on about cheese and smells, further more I have not blamed the pope about anything, whats done is done contemplative. 🙂
