"We can't take this anymore", Holy Redeemer Parishoners want Rome to clean up the Church

I am shocked by this. I agree that some sort of action is necessary. Preferably, I think that the bishop and the pastor of the church should be removed because of the gravity of this scandal. I don’t want to beat up on anybody but…the Eucharist is the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of the Lord! Bishops ought to know better than to place the Holy Eucharist in the hands of activist anti-Catholic sodomites.
They will do nothing! Half the Bishop’s in the Church today are doing thier best to lead the Church straight to hell! I believe they have made deals with Satan and are possessed! I am as of now earnest seeking where I will go for I am leaving the Latin Church!

Don’t hold your breath. I live in SF. This parish has gotten away with - whatever you want to call it - forever. Even when a certain now top Vatican official was bishop. The reality is what is. This diocese and the former bishop caused me to leave the church. The new bishop re-affirms that decision with this and his position on gay adoptions by Catholic agencies.
With all due respect, leaving the church based on the decisions of a few men in one diocese doesn’t sound like a good reason to me. I understand your frustration and I know that the behavior of these people is inexcusable, but, the truth of the Catholic Church does not depend on whether or not the bishop of San Francisco does his job well.

Please come back…the Church needs people like you who will stand up for moral values and orthodoxy. I will pray for you.

You should seriously look into Orthodoxy, About a quarter of members of Orthodox congregations in the Bay Area are former Catholics. I’d counsel against going SPPX.

Well, to be fair to Pope Benedict, we could also wonder why the Lord Jesus appointed Judas. I think we should give the benefit of the doubt to Pope Benedict, considering all he has done to try to solve problems in the Church.
Don’t worry. I do give Pope Benedict the benefit of the doubt. I just don’t understand why he would appoint a bishop like this to that diocese.

Exactly - it “affirms” that diocese and its milieu. How else can it be read?

In the days when the Arians were strong, many bishops were also on the side of error, and yet the Church came through. What if Satan’s plan is to make Catholics question their faith by twisting the minds of some bishops, thus leading them away from Christ? It may seem tempting to leave the Church because of dissident bishops, but maybe that’s exactly what Satan wants you to do.

I urge you not to be so hasty.

When I read about this scandalous situation, I had thoughts of the SSPX running through my mind. And that Lefebvre may not of been as far off base as I have thought, at least to a degree.

But then I thought of Judas, and my thoughts began to straighten out over this matter.

I believe Rome will come down hard on this archbishop, unless he publically admits his mistake of offering these “sisters” Holy Communion, and in very short order.

Even though what these folks do is offensive, a thought has occured to me. I know that you’re not supposed to be recieving eucharist if you’ve got mortal sin on your heart but I can’t help but think that maybe the Archbishop had good intentions behind this. I mean perhaps, just perhaps, that he was thinking that the eucharist might help these guys? I mean as offensive as what these dudes do, mocking the church and all, perhaps they need the eucharist and the special grace that comes from it. may be the grace could, oh i dunno, begin to change them and lead them to the Lord? just a thought here folks.

Or at least gives them heartburn…

Exactly! Just like Rome has come down hard on all the other dissidents who plague the Church…

More likely Rome will do what Rome has become good at- neglect to notice what happened and continue addressing for more important issues, like enviromentalism and reminding people that the Holy See does not own a popular Italian soccer team (no joke there…).

If they were in full regalia, it would be VERY obvious what statement they were trying to make. I’ve seen them on a few occasions, and they are really decked out in makeup and habits.
It’s kind of perversely beautiful - I saw one of the sideline of the March for Life in SF and it was pretty eerie.

They were in “full regalia”… and beautiful?? The proper word here is sick, perverse, sacrilegious, disgraceful, sinful … Beautiful is NOT one of them.

These people are sick. and disordered. This is a mental disorder, always was, always will be. And the more they sin in this way, the more disordered they become - These parades that they create; it’s not about “who they are”, it’s about what they do, and what they do is gravely sinful.

It warps the mind.

Well, if Rome remains deafly silent over this for weeks and months to come, and Niederauer does nothing in the way of publically recanting or repenting of what he did. I may be tempted to shop around for the nearest SSPX or independent chapel.

But until then, I will give the Holy See the benefit of the doubt that action will be soon forthcoming.

I don;t know what happened to the Catholic Church, except that Vatican II has been a disaster.

Rome will do nothing. The USCCB will do nothing. This is not an isolated incident. There will be many red skull caps in hell and they will have taken many Cahtolics with them. These Bishops disgust me and I have begun to vomit them out of my mouth! They are abhorrent, despicable, and vile, and I will not be in the new Sodom when God brings down the fire. I am leaving as soon as I decide where I and my family will go. I will not go to hell with these Bishops (literally)!

I can’t believe this story and that this has happened. I can sense a lot of emotion from you guys. May the Lord show all of us the Truth in our hearts and have mercy on all those who are in most need of His mercy.

Acts 5:
35 And he said to them: Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what you intend to do, as touching these men.
36 For before these days rose up Theodas, affirming himself to be somebody, to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all that believed him were scattered, and brought to nothing.
37 After this man, rose up Judas of Galilee, in the days of the enrolling, and drew away the people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as consented to him, were dispersed.
**38 And now, therefore, I say to you, refrain from these men, and let them alone; for if this council or this work be of men, it will come to nought;
39 But if it be of God, you cannot overthrow it, lest perhaps you be found even to fight against God. And they consented to him. **

Those of you you are thinking about “leaving the Church”, think carefully about what you are doing. If you leave to join SSPX or another church aren’t you essentially just another ‘Protestant’. Either the Church is the church of God or it isn’t. Either it is the Church which God has created to help in our salvation, otherwise how can we believe any of the Faith is true.

There are other Catholic alternatives to the Latin Rite. There are the Melkite, Coptic, Byxzantine, etc. I am leaving the Latin Rite.

My heart aches reading this story. I am going to pray about this right now.

How is that a fair thing to say? We have no idea what Rome is doing and the media doesn’t tell us everything

I am really suprised that the PC admins here didn’t ban this post. Any dirty turth that comes out about The Church is usually swept under the carpet in a nano second.

Thank God for the Internet.

Hey, didn’t Jesus kick the money changers out of the temple? I think what these men are doing is far worse than what the petty money changers were doing in the temple. Where is the bishops bull whip? Why is he not running them out of the temple as He did? Is ths bishop not suppose to walk (and whip) as He did?
