You are incredibly naive. I have visited many sites exposing the truth about mormon theology who use mormon “scripture” and official mormon theology to reveal the abberations in mormon belief. I have read and studied mormon publications, apologetic material and documents produced and published by the mormon organization and I have found little or no deviation between official mormon doctrine and the material found on so-called antimormon sites. The mormon organization is condemned out of it’s own mouth. Witness the twisting and turning by zerinus in his attempts to justify embarrassing mormon beliefs.

If it is your personal belief, then you are entitled to that belief, and I respect your opinion; but if you are attempting to state the Catholic Church’s position, then you are mistaken. That is not the position that the Catholic Church has historically taken on that issue—like it or not.

It has been interpreted in the Church as referring to tea and coffee. However, it may include other beverages. For example, in South America they have a brewed hot drink called mate. They drink it boiling hot! When the missionaries who were out there inquired from the Church headquarters whether they should drink it or not, word came that they should not. Let me make this clear to you. The lds church and the catholic church are not enemies when it comes to morality and what a moral and god-like life means. Both faiths can work together over moral issues. In fact, listening to EWTN I can see Mormon influence when they advise young people to dress modestly and abstain from excess alcohol consumption. I do believe that many catholics at EWTN do wish that catholic youth have the moral code that lds youth live by.
My problem with this board is its antimormonism. To me, it is just plain unchristian and flies in the face about the what the bible teaches.
I would say the same if I found a group of mormons on a message board railing against the catholic faith, calling the pope names such as nutjob as done on this board about BY. And so, when it comes to both faiths I am anti no one. I am however, pro-good people who are willing to attempt to put god’s word into their lives and embrace good, christain values, with their own (human) imperfections and struggles. Why the war?
This is true. I tend to forget that fact. The catholics that I hang with are not biased at all. But we also need to remember that the Internet give people an ‘unface’ behind their words. I am sure that in person the people who write antimormon sentences are decent people.
