I am all for The Church using modern media means to get the message out as quickly and as effectively as is discerned best - and this goes to my way of thinking to all of us eager to spread The Gospel. I rejoice and praise The Lord indeed that we have a pope in Pope Francis who is regarded as a man of Jesus and His Gospel and generally regarded as a holy man and priest and very possibly will be strong in government of The Church, particularly the Roman Curia. He needs our daily prayers every single day… With God on our side, who can be against us. However, as I said to my director Thursday, it can be difficult to accept the decisions of The Lord sometimes, even when we acknowledge with all heart that He does know best. It is the struggle to let our Catholic theology rule our heart and not the other way round.
As we approach Holy Week, I am thus very much aware of the struggle of Jesus in the Garden with His own humanity in which His theology as it were or His Love of The Father as prime is more accurate won over his humanity - sweats blood - at such a really horrific time in His Life with arrest and execution on the horizon.
With the election of Pope Francis, I no longer walk with such a deep sense of shame, rather that deep shame is now modified by a rich sense of Hope. Lord, please hear our prayers for Pope Francis, please be his strength, his inspiration and his guide, and his consolation, in all things.
