We have a POPE!!!!

The meeting between Pope Francis and Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI went unbelievably well in the eyes of the world. Pope Francis exhibited exceptional class in the manner in which he treated his predecessor. Great moment for the Church.
 
Did you see the pope riding around St. Peterā€™s Square after the Palm Sunday mass today? Aww, so lovely. The guards are adapting; they brought many babies to the pope. At one point, the pope descended his jeep to greet some people. The guards also carried some blind, old and maybe disabled people for the pope to bless.

Towards the end, they allowed ordinary folks to come so close to the papalmobil to greet and talk with the pope.

It was just sooooo amazing.

His public display of humility is very appealing. His empathy with individual Catholics is inspiring. Pope Francis comes across as the ā€œPope of the Peopleā€. You have to like it.

Although, our Holy Father has some massive challenges ahead after all the celebration and honeymoon period is over and needs our daily prayer. The Aussie media is waiting to see what happens also and our media likes nothing more than to shine a spotlight on something or other negative because bad news does sell ā€¦and attract readers and viewers. Jesus was largely well received at first, except in his home town, and this did last for quite some time, but if Francis (pardon the simple and affectionate abbreviation he invites by his manner) is really following in Jesusā€™ footsteps (which no doubt I believe he is), we will see the media at some point or other call for and assist at his public crucifixion. The Church cannot proclaim the teachings of Christ without receiving flak from the press whose worldly view is just the opposite. If that day comes (when the press remains kind toward the Church), it can only mean we are experiencing a worldwide conversion to Christianity, the likes of which we have not seen since the Holy Roman Empire. I welcome it if it comes, but Iā€™m not getting my hopes up too high. Someday, we do have to reach a time when we beat our swords into plowshares, donā€™t we? And Our Lady did promise an era of peace, didnā€™t she? Why not now? Oh, I wish! Havenā€™t we seen enough of worldā€™s brand of brotherhood and peace? Letā€™s pray that our rosaries and Maryā€™s great love for mankind, to which her Son entrusted her, will bring about a time of peace in our own lifetime. That would be grand and it is something worth praying for! Thy kingdom come, on earth as it is in heaven!

itā€™s a pretty big fish. the public would be more accepting of the church if they allowed this.
