In recent years he and his para-military groups had been working with the USA to defeat ISIS. If he was, indeed, a criminal, where was the arrest warrant?
In WWII we were allied with Stalin against Hitler. He was still a monster who murdered tens of millions of civilians.
If you want to defend these kinds of people, feel free.
Where was Bin Laden’s? Where was Al-Baghdadi’s?
Arrest warrants? Please. The only ones we could contest are Americans that Obama droned.
I wouldn’t dismiss Iran’s ability to retaliate quite so easily.
What you saw the other night is their recognition that we could destroy their country without nuclear weapons without an invasion force. They know it.

One of the more interesting things about the tragedy of the Ukrainian shoot-down is this. Iran fired 15 or so missiles at an American base and injured no one. Maybe that was the intent, maybe it wasn’t. But in the same action, it shot down a Ukrainian passenger plane, apparently with its Russian missile defense system.

It cannot be lost on others in the Middle East that Iranian warmaking skill might fall well short of what it claims and what it is reputed to be. At the moment, it really can’t afford another “keystone cops” exhibition, and I think those who worry that this is “WWIII” ought to think about that.

I wouldn’t dismiss Iran’s ability to retaliate quite so easily. Consider the visions attributed to Pope St. Pius X about a disaster at Vatican City which appears (at least to me) to be a combination poison gas and dirty bomb attack. Iran has the ability and now the motivation to carry out such an attack
So, the killing of their “general” by the United States is motivation to kill a bishop from South America and a bunch of Italians plus some tourists.
I’m sort of thinking this undermines any criticism of Trump’s actions.

I thought he (poster) was just cowed, advocating for appeasement.
Which means their known terrorism has done it’s job well

They can be outraged all they want about the death of their lead terrorist.
You don’t know that. And you also know it isn’t over because they don’t play fair but they are better team players probably for their own ends.
It isn’t the Alpha male that concludes but years and years of very hard investigation , following, serious work done and with international cooperation too.
There is a lot we will never know and some that will in time come when documents are declassified.
Don’t claim victory,Keep flexing. These are not the rules in this game which is no game at all.
And peace is very hard work too.

I never said it was over. What I said was they know they can’t provoke us into full war because we can annihilate them.
You know, we heard all of this about Iraq, how they would be a formidable foe.

On this we agree. They are not formidable, but they are dangerous. Vigilance.
And when they are ready for peace, they will find a willing partner.

The actual truth is available to anyone who reads the report.
Horowitz Identifies lots of problems with the Mueller report. In fact Mueller himself is the cause of the 17 abuses in the IG report…

A little more than a month later, the FBI asked the Department of Justice to seek a fourth extension of the Page surveillance order. That fourth renewal obtained under Mueller’s leadership included the 17 significant inaccuracies and omissions the IG identified.

Further, it wasn’t merely a matter of Mueller’s team repeating the same falsehoods. Several of the inaccuracies and omissions presented to the FISA court in the late-June renewal application arose in mistakes or misconduct that occurred after Mueller took the reins of the investigation.

And let’s not forget this either:

But Barr and Durham are getting to the bottom of it…

These problems need to be addressed. But they do not change the facts of the Mueller report anymore that repeated denials of them change the facts.
What it shows is that Mueller’s facts were not true and he was complicit with the fisa court in the charade. No denial about that…

I don’t know what?
That the Iranians are outraged first. Change it for Americans, Argentinians…
And about their “ lead terrorist”. Much comes out after a very long time if it does…
In other words , we the people in the street end up one against others sometimes without even knowing exactly why, if we even need to know…,and at the end of the day, in the middle of crossfire suffering all of us the same.

Think about it without underestimating .
Wouldn’t you have learnt to operate differently as far as leadership is concerned?
We are into cult of personality. But are they? And by “ they” I mean terrorist organizations and not Iranian people like you and me.
I have no definitive answer but the question.
Not trying to poke you. Thinking with you.

I don’t think you’re poking me. I’m just trying to figure out your point.
First, what “cult of personality” are we in?
I don’t think they are in a cult of personality, either.

I think Iran has been poking us a bit to try to get us into a confrontation. Shooting down our drone, we did not act, thank goodness, then, a few other acts, a US contractor (translator) killed, we took out there terrorist general. The people really aren’t with the government, yes, the funeral had a lot in attendance, let’s not forget, their government has also mowed down over 1500 protesters in the past few months.

We had some help in getting that general, unfortunately, there are likely Iraqis and Syrians being detained now for helping us.

This airliner is a great tragedy. At the same time, I have to say, I think this tragedy also breaks some of the momentum of the Iranian regime using the death of Soleimani for their own purposes, making him into a martyr and so on.

Right now, protests, not just in Iran but Iraq too, they want the US AND Iran out…they see it as too much interference from outside powers. Well, they might have a point, we don’t want to see another ISIS rise to power and Iraq is still a lot better off than Syria and their war.
