We need gun owners and everyone else to speak for forgiveness

Good Morning Cathoholic,
I gave you my answer already (“My “feelings” in such situations are irrelevant. I won’t get into that here”).

I think this is a condescending remark and I’m going to ignore it.
My apologies. 😦 No condescension was intended at all.
The reason I asked the question goes back to the OP, as I stated. Look, we both want people to forgive, right? You obviously value this as much as I do, and that shows a real devotion.

So, you say that your feelings are irrelevant, and perhaps they are. But emotions are generally very pertinent to people’s actions and choices, right? Maybe a person could think “my feelings shouldn’t be important”, but the fact is that our emotions effect many of our decisions. Let’s look at it from a different angle, for the sake of showing readers something about who we are called to forgive:
Mark 11:25 New International Version (NIV)

25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.
So, the guide to Who to Forgive is if we “hold anything against” a person. For example, I “held” Hillary Clinton’s use of her foundation “against her” until I took the steps to understand and forgive. I think what she did is still wrong, but I forgive her, she does not know what she is doing.

So what does “holding against” mean, really? It means that the person in some way owes me a debt. “But wait a minute, that makes no sense”, a person might say, “why would she owe you anything, personally?” My answer: by her actions she compromised the safety and well-being of people I care about.

Well, what happens when we grow in love is that our “personal” extends to the people we love, right? You presented an excellent example on this thread. You care about the woman who has an abusive husband, and her well-being is very important to you; because you love people and can relate to this person’s troubles. Anyone who stands in the way of her safety is a threat, right? So, in a sense, the “Social Justice Warriors”, if they are part of the effort that makes it difficult for her to buy a firearm, are directly a threat to what you value. It would be very natural, very human, on your part to hold the actions of the SJW against them, that they are doing something wrong and that “wrongness” makes them look a bit negative to you.

Does this make sense?
