But what is the one you are on? If you dont mind sharing a little infor. Like is it somewhere you go or what. I cant believe there is one out there i never heard of.
Rinnie, see my last post #155.

The Light weigh was created by a woman in Texas. The web site and videos are pretty poor quality but her passion for our Catholic faith is tremendous and I’m really hopeful. She gives some good concrete tools, habits, etc. for getting through and growing closer in our Relationship.

After my first ten, I’ll have 20 pounds more. I had set a goal to be down ten by 1/31 but a trip to Mexico with DH’s work kinda threw a wrench into that plan…

I gotta go now! I’m physically hungry; it’s time to eat!!! :extrahappy:

Discoveryhealth.com is running ads about free help on line. It is a new challenge, I can’t remember what it is called, but I am going to check it out today. I am pigging out for Super Bowl. Half the food will be healthy and half is all out FAT! Which do you think I will eat? Sad part is, I made the menu!

Hi all I have already lost 7lbs this year(I’m sick of dieting already:p) Anyway, I want to lose 15 more. I don’t want to buy a new closet of clothes two sizes bigger.

I recently started a thread over in the “Spirituality” forums entitled “helpful hints and prayers to help you survive Lent” The reason I posted it was because I wanted to announce a website I found that had among other helpful hints a wonderful “Catholic” (orthodox to boot) page and plan for weight loss. I won’t give you the website…you will have to go over to the spirituality forums to find it. 🙂

It’s been ages since I posted in CAF so I will do it now 🙂

I lost 7 lbs in January. I am doing Light Weigh (www.lightweigh.com) and enjoying it so much. I work out with Leslie Sansone. She has a dvd that is Christian based called Walk the Walk. Love it! 🙂

Have a blessed Lent!

I had a friend send me copies of the CD-roms… and I got notes too, on how to do the program. When I get money, I will purchase a start package for $135. I love The Light Weigh, it’s Catholic and it works.

Go to the site and learn 😃

Hello, I have lost 18 lbs since the beginning of the year. I will tell you, you do not need a complicated plan. You do not need to pay money. I will tell you everything you need to know to lose weight.
  1. Stop drinking soda, both regular and diet. Absolutely no soft drinks. Only drink water. Do not drink juices with added “sugar”. Regular sodas and some juices have what is called High Fructose Corn Syrup. It is used instead of sugar. It is a bi-product of corn. This stuff is terrible for you it really messes up insulin reception. Aspertame is the artificial sweetener in diet sodas. It is also very bad for you. Furhter, drinking diet soda will continue your craving for sweet things.
  2. Cut down on deep fried foods. This should be obvious.
  3. Cut down on candy. Again obvious, you can still have a little just don’t go overboard.
  4. Walk, and do bodyweight exercises. You can search for bodyweight exercises online. They work well and they are free. You use yourself as the weights instead of a costly system.
  5. Usually if you are overweight you really enjoy foods. Some people suggest eating many small meals a day. If you are anything like me that does not work. It just increases the cravings. Eat 3 meals a day only. Set times at which you will eat those meals. Do not eat outside of those meals. For breakfast do not eat any starches. Just have some fruit. If you like a larger breakfast try eggs. Boil them do not fry them.
  6. Fatty foods do not make you fat. Fatty foods glog your arteries. Excess carbohydrates and sugars make you fat. We get energy from carbs and sugars. There are good sugars and bad sugars. The carbs from an orange are good, the carbs from a chocolate bar are bad. When we do not use the energy from the carbs they get stored as fat.
  7. Do not weigh yourself everyday. Weigh yourself once a week only. Do it the same day every week. This will give you a more accurate projection on your weight loss.
  8. These are just some of the weight loss tips. Remember, weight loss has to do with lifestyle changes. It can be very helpful using perscription weight loss supliments. If you are obese (over 100 lbs overweight) perscription weight loss suppliments may be an answer. Talk to your doctor about it. Do what he suggests. Do not use OTC (over the counter) weight loss suppliments. They are a waste of money. Either way perscriptions or none, it is about lifestyle changes. You may lose weight on a pill, but when you get off you will gain it back if you have not changed your lifestyle.
Again the big one is soda. Stop drinking any kind of soft drink or carbonated beverage. This will make a huge difference. Even if it is the only thing you do you will lose weight and be healthier.

What do you think of 'The Biggest Loser" …I especially like this current one with couples.

I’ve watched a lot of episodes of that show, and I really like it. The transformations are amazing. I like season 5 too, and they’re not divided into couples anymore if I remember right. I feel as like this season is more “game oriented” though. I really like the show, it’s really inspiring.

pjn:

I don’t do a complicated plan or anything - it’s very easy and it’s CATHOLIC 🙂

And I am not a soda drinker. I prefer carbonated water from my SodaStream machine with some ice cubes. 🙂

I walk my dog 3 times a day, I play with my 2.5 y/o son all day, I try to get in a Leslie Sansone workout or use my elliptical.

We all gotta do what suits us and our lives. 🙂 Some do low-carb, some do low-cal, some do low-fat… I am tired of all those diets! The Light Weigh is about finding peace with food, and accepting yourself, loving yourself as GOD does… And eating one portion (the size of a coffee mug) of food… 🙂

I just started NutriSystems in Jan (Jan 7) and as of today am down 19 pounds. Yay for me.

Is anyone else using Lent as a starting point for rehabilitating your body and spirit? What I am doing is removing the things that keep me from God, (i.e. too much TV, eating for comfort, etc.) and the end result is more time to spend with him and on exercise. The plan is just my own. Instead of laying around watching TV at night, I am going to bed early to read and sleep. I am then doing 40 days of 4:00am. I am getting up at 4:00am to exercise for one hour and prayer and read the Bible and spiritual material for one hour before the kids (5 of them) get up. I am fasting on Wednesday and Friday, picking a person or other intention to fast for that day. I am not limiting any foods, but asking myself if this is physical hunger or emotional hunger before eat.

Mostly, I am praying constantly. I pray when that early alarm goes off that God will give me the strength to get up. I have never been able to fast before, but surprisingly God who was able to create our world we live in, can also give weak old me the grace to fast. I know it has only been a few days, but I am feeling so blessed. Just wanted to share my joy.

I haven’t done that this first part of Lent but I think I will do it from now on thanks to your inspiration! 🙂 Fasting is on Ash Weds, Good Friday… and of course Fish on Fridays 🙂 I am obstaining from eating sweets (altho today I had some chocolate… was SO craving it and caved in).

I need to have the tv on since DS watches his cartoons, and I watch EWTN online on my laptop…

I pray too all day…
