*Hi Patti;I was intrigued by the title of your thread. I think the place one spends the formative years of childhood often determines what is “home” and nowhere else is ever quite like home. I grew up in a suburb outside of Philadelphia. It will always be home to me, even though I lived elsewhere (Orlando, FL) for many years. I didn’t like FL at all when we first moved there, and it took two years before I stopped complaining about moving there. I spent quite a bit of time in Pittsburgh on business. There is something special about Pittsburgh, a city of neighborhoods and of people who are proud to be from there. I know a number of people who moved back to Pittsburgh after years of living in other places in the US and overseas. I will say a prayer that your homecoming is all you hope for you and your family.
God bless you.
Yes, there is something special about Pittsburgh. I try to tell people that, but if someone hasn’t ever been, he/she doesn’t understand.
The interesting thing to note is that my dh grew up there, not me. haha I grew up in NJ, and the suburbs I grew up in remind me of where we lived in Pittsburgh. My dh doesn’t like the cold, I am not sure how we will work out all the details. When we made the journey to FL, my company footed the entire bill. When it is for personal reasons, they don’t pay, which is understandable. So, to fly back and forth, looking for a place to live…the logistics of it all–not sure how that will all work out. Thanks for chiming in. *
