*Yes, I agree, I like how you think. When the move to Florida came before us, or the idea of it, I should say–it seemed ‘‘right.’’ My husband’s job was up and down for a while in Pittsburgh, he loathed the winters, when this opportunity came around, it was literally dropped into our laps. I didn’t go to my company and ask to be transferred, they literally started everything rolling, from changing my prospecting territory to putting the pieces together for the move. In thinking it all through, Florida has had positives. I’d be lying if I said living here has been a miserable thing. It hasn’t been. But, I don’t feel this is home, that is something I can’t get past. Now, home is where my family is of course, and I don’t want to seek something outside of myself for happiness. I have had to review that, a bit. My dh and I are very happy and solid in our marriage, we love our kids, we cherish God’s blessings. I have often thought, is God angry that I don’t want to remain here? I don’t know. I hope He is not, I imagine that if He wishes for us to remain here, we will have a change of heart. My dh and I both try to adhere to the small whispers of the Holy Spirit. That said, Pittsburgh is not perfect, neither is Florida. But, between the two, Pittsburgh was the place to call home. I appreciate everyone’s thoughts. If anything changes, you’ll be the first to know
Sharon, I totally saw it coming to this. So happy for you guys, of course you pick a place for good people and family over work. Even if you open a franchise or do something not as intensive as the work you both do now, its still worth choosing people, comfort, and familiarity over the weather. Florida will always be there, and you can revisit the idea in 30 years.
