Getting back to the original when it was asked how Protestants would answer Catholics over various questions, I have issues with a friend who is so nice in so many other ways, but refuses to see that there is succession of the apostles, and uses circular arguments in an attempt to wear me down. When that doesnāt work, the Catholic bashing goes on, and he wonāt listen to the truth about the anti-Catholocism that has gone on in this country and others for years.
We could have a really nice relationship if he would stop this Catholic bashing of his⦠Even though I tell him that infallibility only counts in Faith and Morals, he tries to use it as a trump card way too often, knowing he gets my goat with it. Plus I wonāt read his Gordon Clark books and still want him to read books about The Mass (so he will know the TRUTH, instead of what it is he thinks he knows)⦠Triumph (history, very condensed)⦠and oh, the fights over how many things the church Fathers (call no man Father, yikes) changed their minds over throughout the yearsā¦
So, I thought I should write with hopes that you all will pray for my protestant friend Jim who takes me into circular arguments way too often when we discuss Faith. Right now we are not speaking to each othere because he went way overboard about his erroneous thinking on INFALLIBILITY⦠(this particular one over one priest not knowing about radical sanation, and another not keeping mute as regards things said in the confessional ⦠poor guy ended up having a breakdown⦠human, not Jesus, a human being I told him⦠:banghead: ) made me nutsykookoo. And ya, he used to try to just wear me down too using those circular arguments, not hearing what I had to say about being RC as he hasnāt quite decided which of the tens of thousands of denominations he is going to be⦠sigh⦠Pray for his conversion will you please?
Oh, pray for me too, please, that the Holy Spirit might give me the words that will open his closed mind. You see, he thinks he is an āintellectualā.
And how I have pleaded with Mother Mary to open his heart. I am really glad that I was born into the Catholic Church, I didnāt have to go looking for the Truth, it was in my backyard the whole time⦠no, donāt live in Kansas.
Thanks for letting me vent.
Isnāt this the best Feast Day?
