For those who seem intent on contacting The Fatima Center you should be aware that it was founded by Father Gruner who is suspended by the Church. He is forbidden to function as a priest and the Fatima Center is not part of, associated with or approved by the Church.

“The Congregation for the Clergy, upon the mandate from a higher authority, wishes to state that Rev. Nicholas Gruner is under an ‘a divinis’ suspension, which has been confirmed by a definitive sentence of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signature.”

Frankly, no faithful Catholic should have anything to do with the Fatima center.

Fr. Gruner passed away April 29, 2015.

De mortuis nihil nisi bonum.

True story: When I was in my freshman year in college, I found a copy of the Fatima Crusader. One of the articles quoted our (then) Archbishop who spoke against Communism. The article then ended with a plea to the readers to “heed the words of this worthy prelate”. To the best of my knowledge, the Fatima Crusader was the only publication that still condemned Communism and (outside of UGCC publications) actually told about the plight of the (then) underground Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. That’s why I’ve supported them for 30+ years. They supported the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in her hour of need.

I don’t expect anyone to agree with me; I’m only giving you my story.

During this telecast Bertone displays not only the text of the vision but also two separate sealed envelopes prepared by Sister Lucy, each bearing the explicit statement in Sister Lucy’s own handwriting that “By express order of Our Lady, this envelope can be opened in 1960 …

The date was given by the Virgin Mary… Canon Barthas asked the seer why it would be necessary to wait until 1960, Sister Lucy replied to him in the presence of Bishop da Silva, “Because the Blessed Virgin wishes it so.”
Fatima is a private revelation. The Church doesn’t confirm any of it as certain, except insofar as it repeats public revelation.

Fatima is approved private revelation, not only Diocesan but by the Vatican. This means the information submitted prior to its 1930 approval is not incompatible with what we are certain of. In fact, that early Fatima information is encouraged for our personal devotion and conversion. It’s not part of Scripture, Tradition, or the current Magisterium, not on that level of authority, and can’t be used to evaluate any of those.

I don’t think the Secret is anything to laugh about considering what Popes including Sr Lucy has said about it.

We would be mistaken to think that Fatima’s prophetic mission is complete. Below is the MOST TRUSTWORTHY SOURCE. CHECK IT.

Father Lombardi: Thank you, and now come to Fatima, in some way the culmination, even spiritually, of this visit. Your Holiness, what meaning do the Fatima apparitions have for us today? In June 2000, when you presented the text of the third secret in the Vatican Press Office, a number of us and our former colleagues were present. You were asked if the message could be extended, beyond the attack on John Paul II, to other sufferings on the part of the Popes. Is it possible, to your mind, to include in that vision the sufferings of the Church today for the sins involving the sexual abuse of minors?

Holy Father: Consequently, I would say that, here too, beyond this great vision of the suffering of the Pope, which we can in the first place refer to Pope John Paul II, an indication is given of realities involving the future of the Church, which are gradually taking shape and becoming evident. So it is true that, in addition to moment indicated in the vision, there is mention of, there is seen, the need for a passion of the Church, which naturally is reflected in the person of the Pope, yet the Pope stands for the Church and thus it is sufferings of the Church that are announced.

In a 1980 interview for the German magazine Stimme des Glaubens published in October 1981, John Paul II was asked explicitly to speak about the third secret. He said:

If there is a message in which it is said that the oceans will flood entire sections of the earth; that, from one moment to the other, millions of people will perish… there is no longer any point in really wanting to publish this secret message. Many want to know merely out of curiosity, or because of their taste for sensationalism, but they forget that ‘to know’ implies for them a responsibility. It is dangerous to want to satisfy one’s curiosity only, if one is convinced that we can do nothing against a catastrophe that has been predicted."

On November 11, 1984, Cardinal Ratzinger, head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, gave an interview in Jesus magazine, a publication of the Pauline Sisters. The interview is entitled “Here is Why the Faith is in Crisis”.

“Because, according to the judgement of the Popes, it adds nothing to what a Christian must know concerning what derives from Revelation: i.e., a radical call for conversion; the absolute importance of history; the dangers threatening the faith and the life of the Christian, and therefore of the world. And then the importance of the ‘novissimi’ (the last events at the end of time).
