Psalm 45
“Let the King be enthralled by your beauty; honor Him, for He is your Lord.”

Zephaniah 3:17
“The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”

Psalm 23
"The Lord is my Shepherd.

Philippians 4:4 - Rejoice in the LORD always. I will say it again Rejoice!

Whenever it seems life is tough, or when it going great. Its a great verse to raise to God!

Eighth chapter of Canticles. That’s the part where they reunite. The whole book is so full of good imagery and types.
The 45th Psalm is another one of my favorites. Probably because it has similar language to the Songs.
Both contain a lot of useful apologetic verses.

It’s not what you mean by a “favorite” verse but it’s one I keep coming back to because it’s intriguing: And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together; for before that they were at enmity (Luke 23:12, KJV). Luke is pointing to a big gap in our historical knowledge. What had happened that no one has recorded for posterity? The men in charge of two neighboring outposts of the Roman Empire, the prefect of Judea and the tetrarch of Galilee, had been “at enmity” — for how long? Year after year? Why? What was it all about? And they were reconciled by this one small gesture, so minor, apparently, that Matthew, Mark, and John didn’t think it worth mentioning …

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they will be called children of God.

Trust wholeheartedly in the Lord , and put no faith in your own perception ( Proverbs 3:5 )

A help when my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer .

Psalm 131 tells my what my attitude should be to acquire peace of mind , to be still , to trust .

My heart is not proud, Lord,

my eyes are not haughty;

I do not concern myself with great matters

or things too wonderful for me.

But I have calmed and quieted myself,

I am like a weaned child with its mother;

like a weaned child I am content.

Israel, put your hope in the Lord

both now and forevermore.

From today’s liturgy .

When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, (Ephesians 1:13)

Slightly amusing .

“Find a woman who is a medium, so I can go and ask her what to do.” ( 1 Samuel 28:7 )

Well, the medium part is wrong, but you should absolutely always ask a woman what to do when you’re in trouble. Heehee

🤣🤣🤣

It was read at Mass today. Jesus’ words, "and if you come to a place that does not receive you, shake the dust from your sandals as you leave, I assure you Sodom and Gomorrah will fare better on the day of judgment that than place. (note: the italicized portion of the above is an older translation; todays was essentially “as testimony against them”.)
Anyway, I like it and it is a favorite because Jesus relieves me of the responsibility of “evangelizing” others. He is saying, “try, but I don’t hold you responsible for succeeding.” Makes it a lot easier to not beat myself up over the actions and rejections of others.

Mine are the words of Jesus that teach how to deal with people when they mistreat or abuse us. Without his teachings we can either lash back at them or go home and be hurt and dwell on why they are treating us that way. Or we can listen to Jesus and “love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” (Luke 6:27-28)

I like the painting based on these words .

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” ( Rev 3:20 )

No one mentioned Ezekiel 25:17 yet?

“The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the
Inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men
Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will
shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness
for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious
Anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers
And you will know
My name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee”

“for when I am weak, then I am strong” ( 2 Corinthians 12-10 )

John 3:17:

“For God sent not his Son into the world, to judge the world, but that the world may be saved by him.”

I like it because it tends to give hope.
