It reminds me of something I need to do more often .

" In you LORD my God, I put my trust." (Psalm 25:1)

John 19:9, simply when Pilate asks Jesus, “where are you from?”

Pilate did not mean, “are you from Nazareth?” or “are you from Bethlehem?” He genuinely knew, at that instant, that Jesus’s true origins were beyond this world.

Another verse that I really like is Isaiah 55:8-9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the LORD. As high as the heavens are above the earth, so high are my ways above your ways and my thoughts above your thoughts.

How I long for this fruit .

" But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law." (Gal 5:22)

Not necessarily my favorite, but it is the one that has helped me the most. 😎

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 4:6-7)

As a Deacon, I appreciate this from 1 Peter 4:10.

“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.“

I need to grow in wisdom and my life is getting short .

“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12)

I read this at this morning’s Eucharist .

“Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and railing, be put away from you, with all malice.” (Ephesians 4:31)

There’s a verse that I really like, it’s only half a verse actually. Jeremiah 30:21b

“… for who is he who will devote himself to be close to me?” declares the Lord.

I always hope that would be me.

I have a lot of favorite verses, but these three help me focus the best on what’s most important:

Jesus replied, “The first is this: ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” — Mark 12:29-31

Set me like a seal upon thine heart, and like a seal upon thine arm; for love is strong as death, and zeal is firm like hell; its glow is fiery, and a flame of the LORD - that even many waters may not extinguish love, nor the streams drown it; if one wanted to give all the good in his house for love, so counted it all nothing.
-canticles or song of solomon 8:6-7

(unfortunately most Bibles including the Vulgate do not translate what the Hebrew actually says here, which is one of the ways I discovered that the flame of God’s judgement is actually his essence, love.)

Psalm 149.3
Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
  1. Ever tried being dishonest when you are dancing?
  2. Ever thought about death when you are dancing?
  3. Ever regretted dancing?

I like John 6 and Romans 8.i am not sure why about John 6.Romans 8 really encourages me especially the last part of the chapter.

It tells of the greatness of God’s love .

“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!” (Isaiah 49:15)

Fear is the beginning of wisdom, because that is the epicenter of how much we revere and believe Gods Word, and if we dont revere His Word, we dont have fear of His Judgement on our souls, whe. we do, he imputes wisdom.

I like this blessing .

(Numbers 6:24-26)

This is a little odd .

“From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him. ‘Get out of here, baldy!’ they said. ‘Get out of here, baldy!’ He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys.” (2 Kings 2 :23-24)
