because for many people the surest way of knowing the will of god is through recorded revelations.
and yet there are far more more details, beliefs & rituals in Catholicism than the average Bible Christian.
Realistically, Authorities lie in people, not in non-living objects.
I would say that it is becuase they have a book as an ultimate authority and that cause fragmantation. there r radical fundamentalist muslims and there are also peaceful muslims, that believe that non muslims also have rights. although they believe the 5 pillars they yet have huge diferences in other believes.
But they must be reliable and authentic, how would you determine that?
Because you will be stoned to death if you are anything else in those countries

Scott Hahn is a typical convert, a radical. He scares the daylights out of me!
A man who has a deep love for God scares you? He isn’t your typical radical. I have read most of his books and they are inspiring and full of life. Scott Hahn is also a devout member of Opus Dei, a lay Catholic organization founded by Josemaria Escriva. Both my sisters are members of Opus Dei.
Calls to mind that old Protestant proverb: “Some things, you just have to take on proof”

Scott Hahn was a Protestant Theologian. He accidentally discovered the truth in the Eucharist and was teaching it to a theology class. A former catholic student spoke up and explained he was teaching something the Catholics believe which ended up transubstantiation. He then converted.
Scott Hahn was a Presbyterian, correct?
The bible is the same New Testament for Catholics and Protestants. As with Luther, It’s EGO that causes the divisions.
He was a minister in some form of small offshoot of the Presbyterian Church - his theology was somewhat different than mainstream Presbyterianism, though.
