What about the grave sins that the man who was hanging on the cross next to Jesus comitted?? Scripture called him a thief, but if you look at the translation, thief meant worst of the worst in those days. Jesus didn’t tell him to go to confession first and then I’ll think about it. I think the whole Catholic idea of faith and works doesn’t hold water.
How could Christ have told him to ‘go to confession’ like he was nailed to a cross so he could not go anywhere!!!
In ancient Roman Empire, it was a capital offense for a Roman Centurian to allow a condemned man to escape, like who would let him ‘go to confession’.
The suggestion is a mickey take. It is poking fun at Catholicism. Cheap scate jokes intended to offend.
If expecting a condemned man who is nailed to a cross so he cannot go anywhere is evidence the Catholic Church is wrong as he did not ‘hop down from the cross and nip to confession before returning to be re-nailed’ is the best arguement you can come up with, then I suggest you keep silent as you are only making a monkey out of yourself and people are laughing at you
