I lived right next to my parish last year, so daily Mass was a breeze. It’s not as easy now. Daily Mass would also mean getting to work later, which would mean (potentially) working later. I could, however, do daily Mass at noon (and use that for my lunch break). Last year I maintained the old-school Eucharistic fast (water from midnight until Communion), and it was a lesson in discipline! I will certainly maintain it this year on any day I receive Holy Communion.
I’ll be praying the Liturgy of the Hours daily again (a habit that’s fallen by the wayside since I got married). I’ll be roping my wife into it as much as I’m able, at least for Night Prayer which I pray in Latin, since she’s studying Books of Hours for her doctoral work.
I’m not sure what I’ll be “giving up”. I’ll be watching my mouth… I tend to curse up a storm when playing Halo 3 on XBox.
