more early Church Fathers,
Now I can do this all day. so I have given you from Jesus’s lips to the Apostles to the Early Church Fathers
Jesus was refering to Himself being the Word. When you take in the Word you are saved. In the begining of John, Jesus is called the Word. But here’s a scripture that proves it. 1 Peter 1:23 says “Your new life wil last forever because it comes from the eternal, living WORD of God.” It does not say flesh. It does not say blood. It says Word. Yes His body was broken. Yes His blood was spilt. But that was because He sacrificed Himself for us. Not cut up His body so that we could eat Him.

The Church Fathers that you have quoted are not scripture. You could quote them all day as you say. But they cannot be right (or at least in the way you are interperupting them) when they say something against scripture.

By the way you still haven’t answered why there are so many scriptures scattered all through out the by which say we are saved by faith alone. The answer you gave to the 11 scriptures I showed you was “I’m right you’re wrong” I ask you to read the rest of the passages that those scriptures were in. You will see that they were not out of context.

No is body was not broken, None of His bones shall be broken.

That is scripual and prophetized. The two others one on His right and one on His left had their legs broken but not Jesus.

Oh but some are scriptual. Paul is a church father and an Apostle. He was not there or walked with Christ when Jesus was alive.
What are you saying?

Show me where the two words faith alone are side by side, show me where in scripture you see the words exactly as written “faith alone”

Do we have to forgive others in order to have our sins forgiven by God? If yes, then we are not saved by faith alone. After all, we cannot be saved if we do not have our sins forgiven, and we cannot have our sins forgiven if we do not forgive others. Therefore, we are saved by faith and at least one work: the work of forgiving others of their sins against us. If you answer no , that we do not have to forgive others in order to have our sins forgiven, then he is going directly against what Jesus says in Matthew 6:14.
Christ redeemed all men with his death on the cross. In other words, he paid the price for all men’s sins. Yet not all men are saved. What is the difference between those who are merely redeemed and those who are redeemed and saved? Is it something Jesus did, or is it something each saved individual does? If it’s something Christ did, then why aren’t all men saved? After all, Scripture says he desires that all men be saved (cf. 1 Tim. 2:3–4). But if it’s something the individual believer did, then isn’t that a work? The point here is that the believer has to “do” something in order to be saved. The difference between the believer and the unbeliever is not something Jesus did; it is something the believer did that the unbeliever didn’t do: The former believed, by the grace of God, but he had to cooperate with that grace. He had to do something or else he would not have been “saved.”

Is love not greater than faith?

Faith and Works
14 What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? 17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.
18 But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” 19 You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. 20 But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? 22 You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected; 23 and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “AND ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS,” and he was called the friend of God. 24 You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25 In the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? 26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

You have no legs to stand on except to mis-quote Paul for he was directing his responses to the old laws.

Laws made by man for God not laws God made for man

For even feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, visiting the sick, etc… are laws given us by Jesus(God) and these are works.
These are laws given us by Jesus(God) for man not man for God. These are works.

For Jesus said Loving each other an act of work even those that hate you is the greatest of these laws and takes takes work. Sorry there are some people it takes alot of work to love.

You have no legs to stand on, just alot of blah blah blah

you are totally in denial of direct scripture. Scripture that is repeated over and over again. You have read and heard the word over and over again so you will have no life within you just as those that walked away from Jesus over and over again each time He said this. May God have Mercy on You.

Jesus is my Lord. I believe that He died for my sin and paid the penalty for me. I know I’m a sinner, we all are. Every person who ever walked the Earth, with the exception of Christ, is a sinner. That includes Mary. But He paid the price for us by dying on the cross. Read Hebrews 10:10. He bore our sins and died for us. That’s it. We’re are made right with Him when we believe this. Read Romans 10:10. His sacrifice did everything for us there is nothing else left we can do to earn eternal life but trust Him that when we die we will be with Him in paradise. Why do you argue against me when this is what I’ve been saying all along. I have produced tons of scriptures backing this up. If you look back a couple of pages you will find 11 of them in one post alone.

I love God for what He did for me, He saved me and I was powerless to help Him do it. He died where I should have. Now I walk in His Spirirt. I live no longer live to please my sin nature but I live to please God, obviously I’m not perfect, but I’ve done away with trying to satsfy my sin nature. This is what the whole New Testament is about. Especially Pauls letters. If you read them you will see what I’m talking about.

But you don’t. Instead you sit around saying that I am not saved simply because I have not subjected myself to the Pope’s authority. Christ is the head of the Church, everyone is under Him. We are all part of one Christian Church, there is no Catholic Church and there are no Protestant churches according to God. Why do you all have to keep fighting me? I am your brother in Christ. I am already saved.

If you say say that my quote in my last post, that everyone has commented on, makes me a Catholic then fine, call me a Catholic. But who cares what I am. I belong to Christ and so do you if you’ve accepted Him as your offering for sin, Read Isiah 53:10.
That includes Mary why show me that in the OT or the NT

Have you noticed that after pretty much every time I say by faith I make a point that we must actually live for God. Those things you pointed out are all fruits of having faith or walking in the Spirit. Galations 5:22-23 says “But the Holy Spirirt produces this kind of love in our lives: love, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. There is no law against these things!”

The point I am trying to make is that when we walk in faith good works are a by-product. It is not actually doing those good works that make us saved, it is our faith. However when we have faith good works will follow naturally. Romans 3:31 “Well then, if we emphasize faith, does this mean that we can forget about the law? Of course not! In fact, only when we have faith do we truly fulfill the law”

So it is faith that saves us. But faith in Christ produces good in our lives. What does not save us is taking the Eucharist or being baptised. These are done in a response to faith, but it is faith that saves us.

That includes Mary why show me that in the OT or the NT

Jesus was born in the Holy Spirit. Hence he was born without a sin nature. Just because Mary was a sinner does not mean that Jesus was born with a sin nature. This is your opinion calling me sick. It is not Biblical. The fact that you guys hold Mary in such high regard is idolitry.

you are totally in denial of direct scripture. Scripture that is repeated over and over again. You have read and heard the word over and over again so you will have no life within you just as those that walked away from Jesus over and over again each time He said this. May God have Mercy on You.
Answer me this. Was Jesus speaking metaphorically or literally in John:16:26-27 which says “Then you will ask in My name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. For the Father Himself loves you dearly because you love Me and believe that I come from God.”

Two things from this. One there are those words, loving Christ and belieing that He is God, again. Nothing about the Eucharist. However this is the real point I want to ask you. If Jesus Himself won’t ask the Father for stuff on our behalf, then why do you pray to Mary asking her to ask God for things on our behalf?

There are three questions I have asked people who wonder if they are “born again”.
  1. Do you know that God loves you more than you could ever tell? Your answer seems clear that you indeed do. You recognize objective reality.
  2. Do you love God to the best of your ability? Your answer seems to be yes and no. The Apostle warns us against duplicity. I encourage you to get beyond this and as they say “sell out to the Lord.”
  3. Do you serve Him? Again your answer is yes and no. Perhaps you serve Him the best you know. Then you need to know more.

If you don’t believe that Jesus protected His Church past the death of the Apostles you do not know the Scriptures nor do you trust Jesus. You interpret the Fathers to be incorrect, but you do not indicate which Fathers you are better than. Could you enlighten us?

There are, of course, no scriptures at all that indicate we are saved by “faith alone”. None, nada. When Luther added the word “alone” to faith in a passage of Romans he knew he was adding to scripture something that wasn’t there. When he was challenged for committing such perfidy he simply said, “it should be there.” Luther was dishonest and arrogant. Do you really wish to be associated with such things?

The angel Gabriel said, “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you” (Luke 1:28). The phrase “full of grace” is a translation of the Greek word kecharitomene. It therefore expresses a characteristic quality of Mary.

The grace given to Mary is at once permanent and of a unique kind. Kecharitomene is a perfect passive participle of charitoo, meaning “to fill or endow with grace.” Since this term is in the perfect tense, it indicates that Mary was graced in the past but with continuing effects in the present. So, the grace Mary enjoyed was not a result of the angel’s visit.
Also Mary had yet to accept Her mission when the Angel Gabriel said this so she was full of grace before she was pregnant.

Behold I am the handmaid of the Lord; be it done to me according to your word” (Lk 1:38).

who is the ultimate object both of the Angel’s announcement and of the greeting of the Mother of John the Baptist: ‘Blessed is the fruit of your womb’ (Lk 1:42). Exultation is the keynote of the encounter with Elizabeth, where the sound of Mary’s voice and the presence of Christ in her womb cause John to “leap for joy” (cf. Lk 1:44).

it also records the prophecy that Christ will be a “sign of contradiction” for Israel and that a sword will pierce his mother’s heart (cf Lk 2:34-35).

Today most Protestants are unaware of these early beliefs regarding Mary’s virginity and the proper interpretation of “the brethren of the Lord.” And yet, the Protestant Reformers themselves—Martin Luther, John Calvin, and Ulrich Zwingli—honored the perpetual virginity of Mary and recognized it as the teaching of the Bible, as have other, more modern Protestants.

I could keep going with this but I will end here. Jesus came to bring the new covenant.

The new covenant needed to start from the old and thats begins with Adam and Eve.

Adam and Eve were the only humans born into this world without sin,

Jesus / God but man and Mary / woman were the new Adam and Eve both born without sin.

For God man man and Eve made from man

Jesus and Mary made perfect the new convenant as They were the only two Human to die without having committting any sin.

There was an old covenant (original Sin) that Adam and Eve (man and woman) broke with God by eating of the tree of knowledge.

Jesus is the reason we are saved but Mary was God chosen to be the Mother of God such as God chose Eve for Adam

Our definition of Grace
unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification b: a virtue coming from God c: a state of sanctification enjoyed through divine grace

So Mary was sanctified through Grace (the Holy Spirit)
Why could man not go to heaven without Jesus?
Because Man was imperfect in the eyes of God and god will not be around it or tolerate it. God is pure Justice.

So why would God/Jesus choose an impure Body to be contained in and born from?
He would not.

Even using the king James version which is the basic standard bible used by protestants it says,

Our definition of blessed
held in reverence : venerated b: honored in worship : hallowed c: beatific
2: of or enjoying happiness; specifically : enjoying the bliss of heaven

Even using the king James version which is the basic standard bible used by protestants it says

King James Version- “And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.”

Now that is blessed among all women. that includes Eve and Eve would have been blessed most if Mary was with sin for Eve surely was first without sin so it only goes to reason if Mary was blessed most among all women than she was without sin.
“She [Elizabeth] cried out and said, ‘Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb‘. ‘Blessed are you among women’ — not only blessed among women, but specially distinguished among blessed women by a greater blessing. ‘Blessed the fruit of your womb’ — not that he was blessed in a general way of saints, but, as the Apostle [Rom 9:5] says, To them belong the patriarchs, [and] from them, according to the flesh, is the Christ, who above all, God blessed for ages.

Of the origin of this fruit, the psalmist bears witness in a mystical utterance, saying, For indeed the Lord will give his generosity, and our earth will gives its fruit. [Ps 85:12] The Lord indeed gave of his generosity in that he arranged to liberate the human race from the crime of its transgression through his only-begotten Son. He gave of his generosity because with the grace of the Holy Spirit he consecrated for his entry the temple of a virginal womb. And our earth gave its fruit because the same virgin who had her body from the earth bore a son who was coequal to God the Father in his divinity, but by the reality of [his] flesh consubstantial with her. Concerning this, Isaiah [4:2] also, looking toward the time of human redemption, said, On that day the bud of the Lord will be in magnificence and in glory, and the fruit of the earth will be sublime. The bud of the Lord was in magnificence and glory when the undying Son of God, appearing temporally in the flesh as a bright light, poured out upon the world the greatness of his heavenly virtues. The fruit of the earth became sublime when the mortal flesh which God received from our nature, already rendered immortal in virtue of the resurrection, was raised up to heaven.”

Again you take a sentence out oF context in scripture and say it means the entire chapter and bible.

I have spelled it out on numerous previous posts on this forum and when you start answering my questions without a question I will give you the time of day.

Because Jesus says no one comes to the Father except through me. (scripture over and over again)

The bible states in Revelation that the Saints offer prayers in heaven, they are already in heaven so whose prayers are they offering\ to Jesus?

Ours

Do you ask others for prayer here on earth?

Is Mary and the Saints alive or dead for we ask those closest and with Christ for our prayers so that we may obtain the same. For it is in love that we do this as Jesus has taught. We do not pray to the Saints but by prayer with the Saints and Mary offer praise and glory to God and ask for Mercy due to our sins.

HOLY MARY,MOTHER OF GOD PRAY FOR US SINNERS NOW AND AT THE HOUR OF OUR DEATH AMEN.

Mary is the Mother of Christ/God

Mary is Holy

Is Mary not allowed to pray for us is that what you are saying?

Thou shall obey thy mother and father

For do you think God disrrespects his earthly Mother?

Do you think that Jesus would think you are disrespecing Him asking for His earthly Mother’s HELP.?

Do you not think She is closest to Him for it is Mary that had her heart pierced not us.

Your question is rather strange though as Christ=God=Holy Spirit for they are one in the same. 3 in 1

This is a good response. I am not perfect. There is so much more that I could be doing for Christ I know that. But it is the same for everyone. It is my dream to see a day when every Christian is sold out for God, when they live for Him
People need to realise that although they may be saved they should make sure that what they are doing, they are doing for God.

1 Corinthians 3 11-15 illustrates this point well.
“For no one can lay a foundation other than the one we have already laid - Jesus Christ. Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials - gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay or straw. But on judgement day, fire will show if a persons work has any value. If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. But if that work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder himself will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames.”

Ah, but you missed the point. You cannot determine, nor can I, all by ourselves what it means to love or serve God better. It just doesn’t happen. In fact it has never been true. God carved out a people, a Bride, a collected Body, i.e., a Church. You have chosen to stand outside the Church and make up your own standards. It won’t work no matter how well intentioned you are.

Good quote you have answered a previous declaration you made earlier. Saved by “faith alone” See you are not saved by faith alone but also by the works you do and hey thats from PAUL

Luther was dishonest and arrogant. Do you really wish to be associated with such things?CDL
Luther is not my leader.

Pope’s use to say that if you paid him a certain amount of money then you could commit a particular sin, like sleeping with a protitute. That is corruption at it’s highest. Do you really wish to be ascociated with people like this?

The scripture may not say the words faith alone (or at least that I can show you) but it does imply it. Ephesians 2:8-9. “God saved you by His grace when you beleived. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.”

So it says that we were saved when we believed (i.e had faith). It then says that we had nothing to do with it “And you can’t take credit for this.” It then says that salvation is not a reward for our good works “Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done.” There are other passages that say that Christians should have good works and stuff like that. But they all say that that is produced by faith. It’s not what actually gets us into Heaven. If we have faith it will produce good fruit in our lives.

You begin with screwed up history in which there is no basis in fact and then condemn the supposed practitioners of error with your interpretation scripture. You are chasing after shadows. If you would really study these matters you would not make so many mistaken assumptions.

You must be able to prove that last charge. Go ahead and prove it if you can.

How about the fact that the Bible says nothing at all about Mary being sinless. It talks about Christ, but nothing about Mary in that regard. It simply says that she was a virgin until He was born. Matt 1:25

You guys pray to Mary. You include her in your worship songs. You place so much emphasis on her. Pope John Paul II had dedicated his life to Mary apparently. How about a form of pennance you guys have inwhich you say “hail Mary” a certain amount of times and this reduces your time in purgatory. That is iodolatry.

Judas betrayed Christ and Christ picked Judas as one of His original 12 to lead us so do you want to follow someone like that?

Was Christ responsible for the actions of Judas

Jesus picked the original 12 Apostles and 11 of the 12 went into hiding when He was taken by the Jewish and the Roman authorities.
Is Jesus responsible for their actions.

Peter denied Jesus 3 times was Jesus responsible for Peter’s actions?

What is scripture here telling us?

Jesus sent this men out to continue His Church as imperfect as they were and gave them as imperfect as they were to us through the Holy Spirit to bind men.

They continued one Church to which is the Catholic Church which can historically and factually trace it roots as the one and only Church started by Jesus.

Because men fall does not mean we destroy or flee from what Christ has built but work to continue it’s perfection. For Christ is the Head and we are the body. Amen

I asked you a question and you have ignored or refused to answer it.

Must you forgive to be forgiven?
