God, the Father of mercies, through the death and resurrection of his Son has reconciled the world to himself and sent the Holy Spirit among us for the forgiveness of sins; through the ministry of the Church may God give you pardon and peace, and I absolve you from your sins in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
I’m so thankful to God for helping me through this past week, and for the prayers of those on this forum. I’m also thankful for losing seven pounds this past week!
For being able to go to Mass this morning. For the rain we badly need. For the high quality health care I have access to. For my beautiful grandkids that always make me smile.
For the visit last Saturday of family and grandkids, for seeing my other grandchild this coming weekend too. For my abdominal ultrasound being all good. For owning a car, having a drivers license, still being mobile and independant in self care.
Today, I am thankful that the headaches I mentioned are NOT caused by another bout with cancer - per my doctors - but are the result of tension headaches and working too many hours at a stressful job for over 30 yrs. I am grateful to God for giving them to me to point out that it’s time for me to retire and work for him by volunteering more to help the less fortunate in our community. That will truly be a “job” I love.
For the packed and varied liturgical programme each week in my parish. Mass, adoration, vespers, lauds - different times and styles. I’m thankful for all the priests, deacons, religious and lay people who help to provide all these opportunities to encounter and worship God.
