Here is the Corral Nocturne, from Aaron Copland’s ballet Rodeo. Copland’s best music is simple, open and heartfelt, and reveals what is finest and worthiest in the soul of America.

 
Here is Rule Britannia by Thomas Arne, in its original setting as the finale to the masque Alfred. The chorus is:

Here is Whither Must I Wander?, by Ralph Vaughan-Williams. The poem, by Robert Louis Stevenson, is spoken by a fellow whose loved ones are all dead and gone. He leaves the childhood home he has loved so well, never to return. The artist is Welsh singer Bryn Terfel.
