The fun is over, now back to the classics. I know, I know it builds character and makes me a better rounded person. blah blah blah šŸ˜› The new book in my hands is The early History of Rome by Livy.
Oh, I like Roman history. Send it to me when youā€™re done, ok?

Yes, thatā€™s why itā€™s nice to take a break sometimes and read something inconsequential.
For me it is essential to ā€œclean the palateā€ with a novel in between works of philosophy, economics, etcā€¦

Just finished *Alas, Babylon * by Pat Frank and started Foundation by Isaac Asimov.

God bless

I just finished RUTHLESS TRUST by Brennan Manning

now starting Abbaā€™s Child by Brennan Manning

I feel hes a awesume writer and his writings pretain to the life we all live, and how to cope with it ,awesume books

ā€œThe Book Thiefā€ by Marcus Zusak

If I could describe it in one word (Iā€™m re-reading it for a review website of mine so Iā€™ve been through it once before in total) I think that word would have to be: breathless. Itā€™s an amazing piece of literature and I would recommend it widely. Itā€™s a young adults book, but trust me, itā€™s deeper and more awe inspiring then most adult books.

I am both thrilled and horrified to find out a movie version is in store. One of my favorite novels, ā€œMemoirs of a Geishaā€ was turned into a movie several years ago and Iā€™m left scarred by that experince, lol. Sure, it was a pretty enough movie, but if you read the book you can see they took everything that made the novel so incrediable out of the movie version. Not to mention dumbing it down becaue the producer didnā€™t think Westerners could handle tradition Geisha costume. So I tend to be ambivelant of movies made from books since then. But who knowsā€¦

I really liked foundation. šŸ‘
If you liked Foundation, then you will have to read the rest of the trilogy, Foundation and Empire, and Second Foundation.

There were later sequels and prequels, but these original three have the same narrative style and are consistent with one another.

ā€œA morbid taste for bonesā€ by Ellis Peters; the first Brother Cadfael novel (before the prequel was written anyway šŸ˜Š )

A friend just gave me the book ā€œAmish Graceā€ (How Forgiveness TranscendedTragedy"

Just finished ā€œThe Things They Carriedā€ by Tim Oā€™Brien (which was really good ā€“ and I look forward to reading more books by him).

Just started ā€œThe Enchantress of Florenceā€ by Salman Rushdie.

Just finished The Shack. Amazing!

Also reading *Balancing Heaven and Earth *by Robert Johnson.

Recently finished ā€œRome Sweet Homeā€ by Scott & Kimberly Hahn. Amazing storyā€¦couldnā€™t hardly put it down.

Currently reading ā€œIf Your Mind Wanders at Massā€ by Thomas Moore. Very good so far. If youā€™re wanting to get more out of the mass, this is a good book to start with.

I just finished reading, ā€œA touch of His presenceā€ by Charles Stanley.

*These are books I borrowed from our Parish- Notre Dame de Lourdes. Iā€™ve read ā€œEucharistic Miraclesā€ by Joan Carrol Cruz, ā€œThe Life of Blessed Margaret Castelloā€ by Father William Bonniwell. and Patrick Marrin, ā€œThe life of Mary seen by the Mysticsā€ by Raphael Brown

Many Catholic booklets/pamphlets on Eucharistic celebrations, Saints, Blessed, Church, Catholic, and so forth.

Iā€™ve also read several books (not Catholic) but in some funny way they do mention Our Lord or Our Blessed Mother.

Right now, Iā€™m currently reading a booklet my auntie loaned me called ā€œThe Fatima crusader-spring 2005~issue 79ā€

Maybe, this question should be posted somewhere else but I donā€™t really know how to do that so I apologize if itā€™s a hassle. Anyways, Iā€™d like to know what you do with your "Catholic materials (especially books, booklets, pamphlets, prayers, etc.) after your done reading/with them?

I usually donate them to our Church or I give them to family, friends, and whoever I think ā€œneedsā€ them.

I had over 100 Rosaries (which were given to me at a Shrine I attend with my family practically every summer or on Our Ladyā€™s Birthday) I gave them to family, friends, and I sent the rest along with ā€œHow to say the Rosaryā€ pamphlets and Prayer cards to a Sister who sent them to prisioners.

Thank You and God bless You
