I’m reading two books right now.

Hiroshima by John Hersey

Dresden 1945: The Devils Tinderbox

At the moment I am reading The Fabric of Reality, The Singularity is Near and Altered Carbon, when I say at the moment, I don’t meat all at the same time, I don’t have all three books laid out in front of me with my eyes skipping from one to the other, there are limits to my genius.

Married to a Bedouin - Marguerite van Geldermalsen

…And for those nights when I am so tired I know I’ll only manage 5 minutes reading before I fall asleep, either:

Saints Behaving Badly - Thomas Craughwell
or
The Bad Catholic’s Guide to Good Living - John Zmirak & Denise Mattychowiak

I just got my box set of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s “Little House” books (what I bought with the Christmas gift card from mom and dad), so I’m currently reading Little House in the Big Woods for the first time in about 20 years. Farmer Boy is up next. I had forgotten how much I loved these books. 🙂

They are such good books! I got them all from my mom for Christmas a couple of years ago. 😃

I’m reading; “The Seal, a Priest’s Story”
by Fr. Timothy Mockaitis.

It is the true story about a priest (Father Mockaitis) hearing an inmate’s confession in a county jail, and in turn the confession was recorded.

Oh, I love those books! I even named one of my daughters after her. I do have to reread the books every year or so. Enjoy!

Just starting “The Man Who Was Thursday” by G.K. Chesterton (as if nobody knew) and “The Code of the Woosters” by P.G. Wodehouse.

They are the bestest, we got them for our household about fifteen to twenty years ago. They are well worn and we even got several sequels written by the descendants of the Wilders. I should put them in a last will and testament!👍

I am 1/3 of the way thru “Shadows Of LancasterCounty” by Mindy Starns Clark about one of my favorite subjects, the Amish

Kathy

Just started ‘Atlas Shrugged’ by Ayn Rand.

Thing is loooooooooooooooooooooong.

I never heard of Little House Books, but I will look them up on Amazon.
I finished The Shack, and I am now reading Lightning by Dean Koontz.

Just started “The Things They Carried” by Tim O’Brien.

I was very impressed with the first chapter – I hope the entire book turns out just as well! 🙂

Now I’m reading Farmer Boy. It’s really sweet that she told her husband’s story, too. 🙂

This box set has the books illustrated by Garth Williams- just like the ones I read when I was little (some I owned, some I got from the school library). I know there are other editions without the illustrations, but it just wouldn’t seem right. :o

I am reading One Minute to Midnight, by Michael Dobbs. It’s an account of the Cuban Missile Crisis. And not as boring as you would think. (Alert Dana Perino) Turns out there were a lot more nukes in Cuba than anyone realized. Talk about failures of intelligence!

Also just started Inventing Accuracy, subtitled “A historical sociology of nuclear missile guidance.” Inertial guidance system freaks will love it. Who needs GPS?

But I just finished a couple of high school chick lit novels from the young adult section of the bookstore, so this is a change of pace. Been awhile since I was a young adult.

I just finished Lolita and Slaughterhouse Five. Now I need to decide what to go to next. I love starting up some new books.

The fun is over, now back to the classics. I know, I know it builds character and makes me a better rounded person. blah blah blah 😛 The new book in my hands is The early History of Rome by Livy.
