I’ve finally started reading **Answering the New Atheism **by Scott Hahn and Ben Wiker. It’s very interesting and deep. I find I have to pay close attention as I read to follow along, and sometimes have to re-read a few paragraphs before I get it. But it is fascinating how they tear down Dawkins arguments in The God Delusion.

For lighter fare, I’m also reading **Saving Charlie **, a Heros novel by Aury Wallington, the untold story of Hiro and Charlie, the characters from the TV show Heroes.

“The Life You Save May Be Your Own” by Peter Elie(sp.?) About Dorothy Day,Flannery O’Connor,Thomas Merton, & Walker Percy.
And “Wise Blood” by Flannery O’Connor
Neat books!👍

Genome by Matt Ridley. Really fascinating book, I’m actually re-reading it. Anyone who is remotely interested in biology needs to give this a read.

Also, Arch of Triumph by Erich Maria Remarque. It gets me a bit that All Quiet is renowned the world over while it’s nearly impossible to find any other Remarque book: this one was a lucky find at a used bookstore and I’m glad to have it.

Correction: the author is PAUL Elie, not Peter.

I’m reading “Therese of Lisieux: God’s Gentle Warrior.” A slow read, but I like it.

Just started on “The Rite; The making of a modern exorcist.” by Matt Baglio. Looking an excellent and enthralling read at the moment.

The “7 Secrets of the Eucharist” by Vinny Flynn. Flynn and the passenger of the Hudson river airplane crash were on EWTN a few days ago. The passenger, I can’t remember his name, just finished reading this book right before the plane crashed. All the passengers survived including the pilot. Say it with me…miracle 🙂

Currently reading Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters. I’ve already finished halfway and it’s been pretty enlightening so far… and amusing. XD

Hmm, interesting I just finished reading, “Story of a Soul- the autobiograpy of St. Therese” by: John Clarke, OCD

I was just curious who is the author of “Therese of Lisieux: God’s Gentle Warrior”?

On a scale of 1-10 (1 being the lowest 10 being the highest) what would you rate it?

God bless,

It’s authored by Thomas Nevin. It’s a very scholarly, secular history of Therese with no preferential religious embellishments about it. The author isn’t solely interested in the life of Therese, but her impact on 19th century France and vice versa. While it treats the topic very thoroughly, it’s a very slow read as a result. If you don’t already have a great love for Therese, or for 19th century French religious history, then I think it could quickly become boring and a burden to read.

I would rate it about a 7.

So far, I’ve read the following books:

“Discover your God given gifts” by Don and Katie Fortune

“Island of the blue dolphins” by Scott O’Dell

“The Hidden Girl- A true story of the Holocaust” by Lola Rein Kaufman with Lois Metzger

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum “Silent Witness: The story of Lola Rein Kaufman and her dress”

ushmm.org/museum/exhibit/online/silentwitness/lola/flash/index.htm

I am currently reading “Helen Keller The story of my Life” (a watermill classic)

Happy reading everyone and God bless,

Been reading:

The Rising Tide by Jeff Shaara and Till We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis.

Waiting to jump into The Myth of Sisyphus and other Writings by Albert Camus and The Essential C.S. Lewis Collected Writings.

God bless

Re-reading I, Robot by Asimov
Oooh, please post your thoughts when you are done.
Juggler of Worlds was ok. I think I enjoyed Fleet of World’s better. Juggler seemed a bit disjointed. It had some pretty cool page-turning moments, but some of it felt scattered - like I missed something. To be fair though, I’ve been just reading it before bed and I’ve been extremely stressed & tired lately so that might be the disconnect. If you read it, let me know what you think
