I really do appreciate all of your posts. I have used some of your suggestions to pick out my next reads. Thanks and I hope more people will continue to post!😃

Been so busy reading, I haven’t got around to posting on this thread. 🙂 Just finished The Bible for Dummies (not bad, but with a Protestant slant). Here’s what I’m reading right now.
  1. The Scriptures. Always. The daily Mass readings in the morning and weekly preparing of a Bible study for the Sunday readings with a stack of commentaries and other references.
  2. Trying to get into St. Augustine lately. Reading *Confessions * and a book by Fr. B. Groeshel about Augustine.
  3. *The Rapture: The End-Time Fiction that Leaves The Bible Behind *, by David Curie.
  4. Back issues of This Rock.
  5. Triumph, by HW Crocker
  6. De-Coding Da Vinci, by Amy Wellborn
  7. The CRI Journal (just to see what they’re up to.)

I am currently reading:

Imitation Of Christ

Catechism of the Catholic Church

Life and Revelations of St Gertrude the Great

Ordinary Sufferings of Extraordinary Saints

An Exorcist Tells his Story

An Exorcist

Sirach and Wisdom here too! Along with pieces from letters of St Paul. I am now participating in the 33 day preparation for total consecration to Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

  2. No spin zone, by Bill O’Reilly
Has anyone read these books?

Sorry, I got my George’s mixed up. Clash of Orthodoxies is by Robert George. I must of had George Weigel on my mind while typing! (It must be a sign that I’m supposed to go out and buy The Courage To Be Catholic.)

The Courage To Be Catholic is a fantastic book. I just finished it 3 weeks ago.

Since my last post, I read Flyboys by James Bradley about the airmen who were beheaded (and worse) on Chichi Jima during the battles in the Pacific. Excellent! There are a lot of correlations between WWII and the war on terror.

I have started Flags of Our Fathers by the same author. It tells the story of the 6 flag raisers on Iwo Jima, one of whom was the authors father. Also excellent.

Divine Mercy in My Soul - St. Maria Faustina Kowalska

Interior Mansions - St. Teresa of Avila

Introduction to the Devout Life - St. Frances de Sales (I re-read this book at various stages)

Always a few St. Alphonsus de Liguori books going at once, since they’re not really read page by page.

I guess I’m on a “Saint” kick for reading materials recently.

In addition to the Bible I’m reading the following:

Triumph - The Power and the Glory of the Catholic Church by H.W. Crocker III
Confessions - St. Augustine
