And He only founded, as He says in the Gospel, one Church. That Church is the Catholic Church.

Perhaps, but I formerly attended, Protestant ( and very Calvinist Calvary Chapel, Church of God, New Life Church, etc.) churches. I want to make it very clear that I love my former denominations and the people in them. That is where I learned to love Jesus and the Gospel.

However, It when I learned the things I mentioned above that I had to enter the Church which Jesus Christ founded. Take a look here: catholicscomehome.org/epic/epic120.html

You should also be aware that the majority here (maybe as much as 70% according to a recent poll) were formerly Protestant. Some even ordained pastors of large congregations who have all discovered the Truth of the Catholic Church.

I’m familar with Catholic Answers back when they were located in San Diego. So, help me understand what is a very Calvinist Calvary Chapel. I’m extreme familar with Calvary Chapel. Pope Chuck does not allow Calvary Chapels to be Calvinistic in theology.

Holy as in sanctified? Or holy as in personal righteousness? Are you saying only Roman Catholic Chrisitians are holy and non-Roman Catholic Christians are not holy?

I am saying ALL Catholics are Holy. The Mass is the most important gift Jesus left us for us to receive the Eucharist. What is more holier than that? The fact of the matter is when our priests are ordained (and only a Catholic priest has the authority and power to turn the Body and Blood into our Savior Jesus Christ), the priests prostrate themselves laid out on the floor, in front of the Blessed Sacrament for hours on end. It is called obedience to Christ. The Catholic church is holy just as Jesus is. We have no motivational speakers, (Joel Osteen), we have no hoopla’s as in dancing around with jumping on chairs, the church is holy. There is contemplation and prayer. I thank you Lord for planting me in your One, holy, Catholic and Apostolic church.

They claim that they aren’t, but inarguably the theology at Calvary Chapel certainly holds to Calvinism’s doctrines of totally depravity, predestination (although not so absolute as some) and Once Saved Always Saved which they called the perseverance of the saints when I was going there. That is a heavy Calvinistic leaning in their theology no matter how much they want to deny it.

Oh…you have greatly misrepresented Calvary Chapel my friend. I attended Calvary Chapel churches in southern California for years. I even attended Chuck Smith’s Church in Costa Mesa, CA. I also lived 5 minutes from the Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, CA. They are not a Calvinistic Chrisitian Church, but rather an Arminian Christian church. They do not teach and believe in total depravity, predestination, and OSAS. Which Calvary Chapel Church did you attend, and for how long?

I guess it’s easier to avoid the central issues, since things have not changed. At least Protestants are no longer burned at the stakes for rejecting the Roman Catholic Church. Do you guys have any idea what the main issues were in regards to the Protestant Reformation?

Oh please…there have been so many, numerous accounts in the past centuries of Protestants killing Catholics it isn’t funny. I could list them all, but I’d be here all day.
Calvary church and the other “man made” churches are not from Christ. So you can think whatever you like. Only the Catholic church is the truth. All others with the half-truths, so you can’t talk.

Here is a very famous book which used to be essential reading for Protestants. There are lot’s of bold claims made by Roman Catholics on this site without documentation to support what you are sharing. Here is my documentation; please share yours. BTW… are Protestants all heading to damnation because they reject the Roman Catholic Church? I don’t think God saves through false churches, and half truths cannot save sinners.

Realistcally speaking, the Catholic Church’s doctrine has not changed for 2000 years. Protestant Doctrine is always changing and when it doesn’t change quickly enough for some people they change it themselves by staring their own church with names such as Reformed…xyz!
