What did Jesus bring to the world that was not already brought by Moses?

Just wondering what it was that Jesus brought to humanity that was not already brought by Moses Himself?

What is the Catholic (and non-Catholic if anyone wishes to contribute) position on this?

The forgiveness of sins. Until Jesus died on the cross, the gates to heaven were closed.
 
First thing that came to my mind was Moses allowed divorce, but Jesus corrected that divorce was not allowed from the beginning.

Meanwhile, the Redemption of Mankind is certainly a biggie:D

The forgiveness of sins… Jesus is like the ‘new’ Adam.

Everything. So much from the OT is a mere foreshadowing of the NT. Manna vs Eucharist. Passover lamb vs Christ. Eat the flesh of the lamb vs Eucharist. The seat of Moses vs Chair of Peter. I could list so much more. So the question is not framed correctly. Jesus did not come to do something that Moses did not do. Much of What Moses did was but a foreshadowing. So there is nothing to be redeemed from…
 
Also, if possible, wherever you can, would you mind providing a reference for any responses you give?

I think it is important that our thoughts and positions are backed by the Holy Word, wherever possible 🙂

It’s not only original sin, but all sin that distances the soul from the Maker.

Jesus died on the cross exclusively for the forgiveness of sin. Jesus rescued Moses as soon as he died. He freed all the souls that were waiting to enter heaven.

Are you writing a thesis or something? You can get all the answers from the net. 🤷

Isaiah 53:5

Well Isaiah foresaw something that needed to be healed by the Messiah.

Daniel 12:2–

"Many of those that sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to eternal life, others to reproaches, to everlasting abhorrence"

LOL 👍 (that made my morning!)…I wish I was knowledgeable enough to write a thesis 🙂
I have looked up stuff on the net, and I also only get things relating to redemption and forgiveness of sins. But Jews have no original sin, so I ask here, hoping to open a dialogue with you all 🙂

I would love to do RCIA, but I’m not even close to a tenth of the way through studying the Revelation of Baha’u’llah on a day to day basis!!

Exactly. 🙂

But while I’m not really qualified to interpret scripture. I can only assume that this is talking about physical resurrection of the body. When Jesus comes ‘again’.

Thankyou Vincent. What do you think Jesus came to heal us from? (if indeed Isaiah was referring to Jesus in this statement)

So Jews already believed in eternal life BEFORE Jesus… 🙂

…and also, you have 4000+ posts, you have as much validity in your understanding of Scripture as anyone else on this planet, and your understanding is cherished, especially by me 🙂

Lets get some context here:
"Now at that time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise. And there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that time your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued. 2"Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt.

This is foreshadowing the Book of life in Revelation, those who are in the book of life will awake from the dust of the earth and go to Heaven.

Oh ok. But you do read the Bible and take quotes from it as if you know what it is saying. Odd.
