Isn’t this the Non-Catholic religions board? Why is it a problem for a Wiccan or an atheist to post here then? I don’t understand the objections.

Secondly, isn’t the title of the thread what do witches deserve now? Isn’t is interesting to hear from a bonafide witch if that is what Blessed Be is? I don’t think this person is proseltyzing–just putting forth her point-of-view. I find it interesting.
I would appreciate more info on her being a wiccan and the belief of a wiccan. I don’t see too much info on that.

Thank you for your understanding. You are correct, I am not here to proseltyze, convert, undermine Christianity, etc. I am Wiccan and also studying witchcraft, and as you said, since this is a thread about witches, I am putting forth my own opinion.

I wasn’t writing so much about Wicca since the topic was regarding Witchcraft, but I would be happy to share information. What are you looking for? Since info on Wicca covers a large range of things.

No. I believe that the God and Goddess are two separate persons within that one Creator. They balance each other, are opposite and equal, separate and One.
What is the source of this information?

BlessedBe13:
Not at all. You need to pay attention to what you write:
Blessed Be - I see that you’re back and I did pay attention to what you wrote in the “Has anyone seen demons” thread yeaterday. Most of the people here are devoted & devout Christians. We love Jesus. We are NOT interested in wicca in the least & don’t want to learn about it. There’s nothing you could say about wicca that most of us would be interested in. I personally find it very dangerous. This forum is called “Catholic Answers”.

God bless you,
Shannin

You may be speaking for yourself, or maybe even the general population here, but I have had a few people asking me questions that seem to be genuinely interested in learning about what I believe - even if they aren’t interested in practicing it.

Yes, and there is also a section for non-Catholic religions. Also, when I registered, it was not one of the rules that one had to be Catholic to participate here.

I also believe it is against board rules to promote another site to promote your own agenda. If im wrong I appoligize.
I am not using it to “promote” anything. I was asked for a source for my information, and I gave one. I have seen several other people on these boards doing the same to back up information they gave.

Cunning tactic, keep throwing out the bait and the fish will bite.

Hello. 👋

I didn’t ignore your question. The reason I gave an internet source is because I am on the internet now and you did not ask for a book source originally.

There are several books on Wicca. One book including the information above is Paganism by Joyce and River Higgenbotham. Obviously the book is not on Wicca alone, but does include information on it.

As for a Wiccan “bible”, although I do not own it, I have heard of one and am currently trying to locate that information. Most books by Scott Cunningham describe Wicca very well, as does Drawing Down the Moon by Margot Adler.

Is there one correct and authoritative source that is followed by all followers of Wicca? How old is wicca?

This is what I am currently looking for information on. I know I have heard of one, btu can’t recall the name. However, the Wiccan Rede is a set of “laws” that are followed by all Wiccans.
How old is wicca?
Wicca itself is approximately 50+ years old, although many practices/beliefs are taken from older pagan religions.

Is there a founder? What do wiccans/witches believe happen when a person dies?

Michael C:
Is there a founder?
Gerald Gardener is the official founder.
What do wiccans/witches believe happen when a person dies?
While the beliefs of witches vary, as not all Wiccans are Witches and not all Witches are Wiccans, Wiccans in general believe that all souls go to a place most refer to as the Summerland. There they are reunited with those that have gone before them and review and integrate past lives and are eventually reincarnated - most believe until certain lessons in life have been learned at which point they remain in the Summerland for eternity. The afterlife is one area where WIccan beliefs vary. Some believe the first description I gave. Others believe that once one dies they go to the Summerland and that’s it. Others believe that people can choose to be reincarnated or not.

Reincarnation is also not something that happens immediately. It can be right away or there may be a time period for the soul to “relax” in the Summerland before being reincarnated. In general, however, Wiccans believe in at least the possibility of reincarnation. Personally, I am still evaluating my beliefs in reincarnation. Right now, I am at a point where I believe that all souls go to the Summerland and stay there. I am still studying about reincarnation, but if anything, I am leaning towards the possibility that one can choose to be reincarnated.

What does Gerald Gardener say? Yes or no to reincarnation? Do you hold him as an authority? He is the founder, right.

Blessed be, So your going to Summerland ? Sounds really like a real hot sizzling place to go. I believe you are right. In christianity we call it HELL.

Blessed Be,
I (sadly) agree with this & I don’t mean to be judgmental but I must speak up. However, it’s never too late for anyone to accept Jesus (the Unblemished Lamb) as your Savior. Jesus gave his life and died on the Cross for YOU and all humanity because he loves us. I will pray for you. God bless.
Peace to you,
Shannin
