Well then you are not a very good Catholic from your post. Anyone who finds this disgusting, is indeed a so called ‘Catholic’ in disguise.
Are you the poster formerly known as “righteousone”? 🙂 The MO sounds exactly the same (accusing other Catholic posters of being “Catholics in disguise”.)

Who? If someone else claimed what I say, perhaps it is true. You are not Catholic, therefore why do you worry?

If Catholics are going to publicize things like Lanciano, they’re going to have to be able to deal with those of us (evidently, including some Catholics) who find such concepts repulsive.

The Tibetan Buddhists, when a person dies, leave the body on cliffs for vultures to eat. In their mind, that is a more natural way to dispose of a body rather than burying or cremation. I find it repellent, but then again, I’m not a Tibetan Buddhist and I don’t have to accept it. They don’t find it disgusting because they grew up with the concept.
You’re comparing apples and oranges - a little. The Lanciano Miracle was a one-time thing (I’m assuming). If these Buddhists are leaving dead people out for birds every time somebody dies, then that is an ongoing thing and a continual violation of the corporal work of mercy to “Bury the Dead.” Even our own government burys the dead in all those John Doe and Jane Doe graves that they have. Plus, leaving a dead body for animals to eat is obviously not a miracle.

If you think that this particular miracle is disgusting, then there is not much I can do to change your mind. But please understand that what this miracle stands for, represents, communicates, insert-your-own-word, is something very beautiful and dear to all of us. It shows that God wants to prove to all of us that Jesus is the True Bread come down from Heaven for our salvation and perpetual help (Mary is sometimes referred to as Our Lady of Perpetual Help, but I’m going to assume that Jesus can do the same job.) Just because it’s not something you can see and / or believe does not mean that it’s not true, especially for us as Catholics. I am reminded of the man who washed his eyes in the pool at Siloam. Jesus gave the man his sight back because he believed that Jesus could do so, yet the Pharasees didn’t buy it. They even asked the man’s parents! I mean, really what does it take for some people, ya know?

Did it ever occur to you why miracles and uncorruptible bodies of saints happens only in the Catholic faith because Jesus himself finds the Catholic faith his true church?

That guy aint no catholic. Please try again. 😃

The Eucharist is not intended to bring visible miracles but spiritual health to those who have the right disposition towards it.
spiritual health? but history tells us that some of the most notorious people on earth were the children to the catholic church. your fruit defines what you are.

Buddhist are the spiritually healthiest people, because of all major religions they have the cleanest resume. 👍

A miracle wouldn’t be a miracle if it was visible and seen every day would it now???
Ever heard of the word “Mana”? You should really try reading your bible. Supposed to have happened everyday. 😛

I’ve had Catholics on this forum mock aspects of my faith. I did not complain because frankly, I expected it. Catholics do not exactly have a glorious history of respect for those of other faiths, esp. mine.
estesbob’s ridiculous demands only serves to damage the RCC’s reputation. insisting that infidels call ‘god’ something that is, by all scientific examination, a wafer.

I asked you a simple, straightforward questions. A simple yes or no would suffice.

Are you the poster formerly known as ‘righteousone’?

Yes or no?

I think posters have the right to know who they are really dealing with. I used to be known on here as “CarolsDaughter”, and if anyone asked me, I’d say so.

No, I found this sight by accident, and I haven’t been here long but your insults toward our Holy Eucharist and the Catholic church I find repulsive. This is a Catholic forum, are you not aware of this? Why are you here if to bash my Catholic faith?

Oh, don’t tell me Buddhists do this TOO?

For all anyone knows, very saintly Jewish rabbis of old also had incorruptible bodies. We’ll never know, because in Judaism, our religion teaches to bury bodies as soon as possible (within 24 hours), and to never disinter bodies except for reburial in the Promised Land.
And I notice you always bash others but come back with “But in Judaism it’s this way or that way”…as if every one should just sit back and say you are right in everything you say. That is just being arrogant.

You call this a miracle???
I call that “An Incorruptible Non-Catholic”. Pretty much refutes your “miracles”. Hey even Napoleon Bonarte’s dead body is incorruptible.

If God wanted to show a miracle, he wouldnt settle for something that low, broad, & replicable. If Pope John Paull II rose from the dead, now that is a miracle!

No, this corpse is not Incorruptible, but thousands of Saints are.
Preserved bodies found in countries around the world can be divided into three classifications: The **deliberately preserved, the accidentally preserved and the incorruptibles.**The incorruptibles, however, have existed only since early Christian days. Their preservations since that time have challenged the opinions of skeptics and contradicted and defied the laws of nature, all to the dismay of many examining physicians and the admiration of succeeding generations.

You wouldnt believe it. You would find all sorts of excuses to claim it wasn’t true. You already beleive that the wonders we see about us are all the result of some massive primordial fart. You see what you want to see.

Propaganda. If those saints really resisted decay then why the hell did catholics put a WAX MASK over the face of the supposedly incorrupted St.Bernadette???

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incorruptibility

the better to fool people.

Hmm, good point. I didn’t even think of that!

You know, after seeing pictures of the so-called Lanciano miracle, and the bodies of Catholic saints, Orthodox monks, Buddhist lamas and Hindu priests that did not decay, I have to thank all of you.

I’ve decided that eating lunch is not on the agenda for me today, so I guess that ought to help me lose some weight!

I do not trust Wikipedia for any source because it is Anti-Catholic. St. Bernadette (which thank you for respecting the fact she is a saint when you wrote St.) Does not have a mask of wax. That is exactly what she looked like at the time of death. She has a fill in from wax. Why choose her and not the other THOUSANDS of saints that were martyred for Christ? St. Bernadette’s BODY is incorruptible.

see, you got fooled as well. take this one from bbc:

news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7364228.stm

*Placed in a glass coffin, Padre Pio was dressed in a brown robe and his was covered in a life-like silicone mask. *

like i said, the better to fool people.

in this day & age, buddhists are still more honest. they show their incorruptibles as they are. no masks. no deceptions.
